Hi everyone,
I'm looking at getting a new MP3 player and my specific requirement is the ability to resume from the exact part of the song if you turn it off and back on later. I don't want it to resume from the start of the file you were playing as I play mostly long DJ mixes. Does anyone have or know of one that does this? Thanks! Andrew.

Thanks for the help everyone. I use a tape adaptor with my current car sound system (which sounds fine for me) so I can play the MP3s using a separate player. This is why I'm after one that resumes from the middle of a track, especially with the long tracks I play. I also want to keep my steering wheel controls without paying heaps to adapt them!

There is another brand out there though which I have forgotten the name of, which is Ipod compatible and charges as well as has a frequency range from 87 to 107FM to play it on the stereo, with minimal hiss My missus has a creative MP3 player which is great, but the FM tuner adapter is rubbish, only allows 3 or 4 stations to play the music and hisses like buggery |

Most FM transmitters like the itrip seem to make the hissing sound... Ive got a Belkin one that my GF uses with her ipod and it hisses sometimes.. In my car i have a Pioneer iPod adaptor which directly connects the ipod to the H/U.. it works very well
On a home stereo your better off getting a stereo headphone to 2xRCA cable and plugging it in to the AUX port on your stereo... Sound quality is great.. most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference between it and a CD.. Quote:

I'd love to have a phone that can resume from where you left off and would have good MP3 sound quality with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. I need a new phone. Does the K700i allow you to pause and do other things, then come back and resume play?

I absolutely loved my ipod when I bought it, it was one of the early models before every single person in australia had one. Over time though I use it less and less it's in a draw now, use it now as an extra hard drive when my laptops full.
Back on topic, my brother has a sony walkman mp3 player and I think it does what your asking, next time I see him i'll ask and get back to you on it. |

The other thing I have used for my iPod was the Casette on a string, which I used in my AU for a year. It sounded similar to the Auxiliary input, except for the tape hiss. As for an iPod, they are great for what they do, however I have not used anything else. For what its worth, an iPod only resets itself after 24 hours (or the third generation does), and any time during those 24 hours, its bookmark function works. That is, you can pick up the song from the same spot. It is good for those Audiobooks, which I try to listen to in the traffic.

the ipod nano, will never let you down....... exept for when you charge it without turning it on moving it or trying to communicate with it in anyway.
