Well read this one for another example of a silly, silly boy....
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117...from=public_js Young? Well, not all that young. Inexperienced? Who knows. Probably. Stupid? No question about it. Whats the answer: The system grabs 1500 bucks off him, grounds him for a while and when the time has elapsed he's back on the road, probably with a bigger chip on his shoulder and no attitude change. BOYS. I tell you what, work needs to be done, inside their heads. |

Glad one of the families came out with some common sense so soon. I'm sure whatever punishment if any he gets out of this will be nothing compared to him having to live with the fact he was responsible for killing 4 mates.
I'm curious to hear what the investigators will release as the cause as this would be the first crash in ages where the authorities haven't come out straight away with a reason, generally speed.

The rule about carrying one passenger is ludicrous, it is a fix after the horse is bolted mentality and all it does is encourage more p platers to be on the road. Who the hell comes up these half arsed solutions.

I can see your point, all I think it would do is encourage drivers not to display their plates. Just like our gun laws, and a few others, after any death their is always a knee jerk reaction.

Can't wait till 2 weeks time. I will be finally off my Ps and won't have the stereotype attatched to me anymore or be faced with laws that won't do anything. Those plates are going to burn!
All a passenger restriction will do is instead of having many idiots in one car, they will be many idiots in many cars. That's if they obey the law in the first place. Has anyone actually heard any more info on this accident? |

ONE of the state's top road safety experts, Head of injury prevention at Sydney University's George Institute Rebecca Ivers said "That crash in Byron Bay is the classic example of a crash that wouldn't happen if you had passenger restrictions."
Is she serious!!! Has anything been released yet to say what caused the accident??? Taken from this article Politics killing our young drivers http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegrap...007132,00.html

last I heard the driver said he didn't want to live. I'm hoping somethign +ve can come from his experience and, along with the publicity from this tragedy, he can help wake people up.
I've heard soem blame put on the road. I've travelled that road many times and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Personally, I'd much rather drive that road than a 110 km/h freeway with its total boredom. |
