AFL games have the highest attendance of a weekly competition in Australia. Memberships are also healthy, especially the non-Victorian clubs.

Although I've generally not been a rugby fan, I can still watch it and don't mind it. Where AFL has become almost over professional in terms of commentary, rugby has that "local" feel to it. I also think Don Scott (former Hawthorn captain -1976 and 1978 premierships) is a ********.

Lol so true! It's either a goal or not a goal! I have always considered AFL as no rules football.

Lol Slick doesn't change the fact that you can kick 3 ways for a goal! Left, right and in the middle :P

But after the loss to Great Brittain tonight in the rugby league, I have to wonder why I watch it! Seriously 90% of the time I watch any type of representative rugby Australia loses. Maybe I'm badluck!
