Default xr4 wheel stud covers coming off?

a bloke at my work has an white with blue striped xr4, he keeps telling me his wheel stud covers are coming off. both times he is not sure if they have popped off while driving or people have pinched them. if people are pinching them they seem to be a sort after product lol twice in 3 months same wheel.

have people had the same problem and know how to fix it?

ok this might sound stupid but is the stud cover the disc in the middle of the rim?

when i was washing the car the other day i noticed that my front passenger side stud cover was lifted up in one area..looks like something has been shoved under it to try and pry it off..but its still there, i can wiggle it a bit, but i dont think its going to fall out - maybe someone tried to nick it and failed? not sure how you could prevent them falling out/being stolen though
