Faccasia? Think they mean Focaccia ;) I'd love to see Coober Pedy, always always wanted to go, my Nan used to tell me about it all the time when I was younger. Although after I saw Guy Pearce get bashed there on Priscilla Queen of the Desert where not even Big Bad Bill Hunter could save him, I'd be a bit apprehensive |

ive alway wanted to get a huge road trip organised for the forums to come up here but i think alot of people wouldn't wanna drive for 8 hours.

The last time I was there I had to stop the Coach so the tourists could photograph the sign at the start of the main street.... "Bulldozers must not be driven on bitumen"!
(The main drag was the only bitumen road around for miles and miners used to drive the 'dozers into town apparently) The town is definitely worth a visit though.

lived there till i was about six, parents still have a house there. avoid going back if i can but a road trip out the the breakaways wouldn't be a bad idea! quite beautiful at sunset!

I wad there a few years ago on a school excursion to central Australia..
I got in trouble for climbing the metal tree.. Atleast I can say I have done it? Lol

I was there in May this year, there were signs up that they had won the award for best pizza in Australia for 2010.

I was there ages ago when I was a lad. That was the last time. Went noodling up there and my old man still owns some properties there. There is a whole lot of nothing as well as a plethora of holes in the ground if your not careful. I can still remember the smell of those underground motel rooms.
