Team Focus - just inherited a 2010 auto 2L petrol focus - 120K - with a 4 speed change. It has a slight but noticable change 'crunch' from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st other wise runs well. The reading I have done says forks and actuators may be the issue to most likley needing a full auto-rebuild which they say is a 4K plus rebuild. As 2011 sees the 6 speed box introduced I am asking the question does a 6 speed box bolt straight up the 2010 engine and if that is a yes are then any sensors moficiations or other adjsutments required

I have a 4spd 2009 LV focus and only auto issue we've had so far is just it will jerk when you take off if you don't come to a 100% stop going reverse to drive (opperator issue for me!)

OK given up the idea of a Power Shift - now going for a second hand late 4 speed box - found a 2011 - 4 speed auto for $550 out of a 97.000K focus sedan - are 4 speed boxes around this vintage say 2009 to 2011 generally ok or do they have inherent faults. Should I be looking for some thing specific ? About how long to drop an auto out if you have the right gear, jacks and stands ?
