Sounds like a loose contact. You could replace the regulator, but I reckon it would be a waste of money. Have you checked the buttons are all fine and the contacts are clean?
Does the window wind up & down normally when its working, or does it jump, shudder etc?

On our EB Fairmont the problem was a dud console switch - swapped wires around so the dud one was a rear window that was never used.

I also have a similar problem with my EF the window regs are a common problem we sell lots of these regs. but would not hurt to check connections first as regs are riveted in and can take a while to get out.

I just re-solder the all the contacts they seem to go dry joint and stop making contact, fixed mine up when the passenger window went down and never to come back up. Also worked on my SLS that at times would to fail and not work.

it could be the buttons, altho the lights dim a little wen u push it so i highly doubt it, i thaught that also as they have a tendancy to go. will inspect it more tomorow.

next time it doesn't work, pull out the switches and check for power with a test light. If it has power when you press the switch, move to the door. Take off the trim and check for power at the window reg. If it has power there then it's the reg...if not, its a wiring problem between the door and switch.
