Good starting point for a sleeper! Makes you wonder how cheap they are going in the auctions too when you see that fixed price have a markup factor.. (but still bloody cheap)

If only it was a decent colour! Black would be sweet over some 19s!

Not bad. My parents bought an 04 I6 BA last year for $23,999 with 15,000k's. It was an ex company car that was surplus. For some reason no-one could sell it even Ford. It was advertised @ $28,999 though ;)

My dads known as a serial pest as local car yards as he's a licensed RW tester. He picks all sorts of stuff on supposed r/w cars. He is a pain in the **** sometimes.

that is why that car is so cheap, its colour, if it was mercury silver or lightning strike, or even white it would bring $1500 to $2000 more.

well regardless of colour, if i had 24k i would buy it straight up.
i bought an AU a few years ago that was 1 year old at the time with 40k on the clock and that cost me 24k and it was a base model. in my books this BA is a bargain!

Yep. I got my XR6 at a Pickles Auction. Ex fleet car.
But as my Dad said at the time, why should govt. employees get XR6/6T/8, and have it all paid for by the taxpayers.
A base model XT or whatever is fair enough, but they are getting performance vehicles, and we're paying for it.

If it was government that was very strange. After being in the army and obviously spending alot of time on bases i only ever saw base model wagons/sedans and utes except in the case of a Major who was a unit OC and gets a Fairmont Ghia and all Brigadiers who get statesmans. Never seen an XR though...

I can't believe how cheap these already are imo.......
For the private buyer its hardly worth buying new nowadays especially in the Ford and commodore product.
I agree Ghia's look schmick with nice wheels and dropped, pity like the G220's they should have the 260's unda the hood.

Damn shifty b@stards and their flash fleet cars!

Probably not a good idea though to give Army guys access to a brand new XR though hehe:P

And mine wasn't the only one there either. There was an 04 BA XR6 auto, in Blueprint. a red XR6T and a white XR8, all govt. vehicles.
And I know when the store managers at Woolworths get new company vehicles they are given a list of the Crappodores they can have, none of which are base models.

No wonder we pay so much in tax.
