Default Windows Vista Transformation Pack

PC User magazine, Jan 2007. has the program to transform XP to VISTA.
or you can download from www.windowsxlive.net.
Remember to set a Restore Point first.
Plus other programs to change XP to nearly VISTA .

The logical thing would be that drivers would work for the platform they were designed around and beyond for other upgrades. But I guess it is all baby steps though.

That's nearly double what XP is. Does that mean you get double the problems then?

I have heard that the average joe's computer won't be able to run it either.

What are the minimum specifications? I think my computer is getting a bit tired after SP2, and back when I got mine it was a fairly fast computer.

I ran RC1 for a while... Fantastic, all of my hardware is supported except my TV card. It worked, but very glitchy. I will be in for Vista as soon as it's released on Jan 30 '07.

At this stage "vista " is slow and a cludge , it dumb down the system so far with silly checks you need a cut lunch for certain things oto happen , one xp box left and everything else in nix.

Just took the last swig of my Carlton Draught! Anyone want to donate to the "Get Mitchay even more tanked Fund"?

Well there you go Microsoft, if you can think of a way to send booze over the Internet you would have 90% of Australia on board with you.

But seriously folks, Vista is the best thing to happen to windows since Win 95. And it can only improve. Stable, pretty and reliable.... Just need a decent PC to run it... I would recommend a P4 Dual Core based PC with PCI express and 1 gig ram, as a base point. The install disc is almost 4 gig compared to 700 meg to it's predessessor XP. All good IMO.

Well you would want to hope so! I will upgrade soon when I can afford it. But like I said the average joe wouldn't be running those specifications. I know a lot that don't even have that. Hell I know people running 95!

Maybe you can compress it to a WinZip file. Couldn't help myself : I think it's about time for bed. 10hrs of work in near 40 degrees, no dinner and a lot of booze will do it!
