a car that couldn't crash - also could only be brought by bill gates as you'd need mega bucks to afford it! Just another product of over-sensitive-to-the-point-of-stupidity american officials.

i think once the technology is filtered down in later models it will become cheaper. i mean look at the S class it had the first of everything (ABS, Airbags, etc) now it is on cars that cost 15k. this is just a start.

I agree, a watered-down version will definitley be available at some time. Just a sign of the times. Personally I would never buy a car with heaps of computers... not my bag, baby. Just the good ole' ECU and ABS systems for me... maybe one or two others in the future. I love me EA, just wish it had airbags.

heh i agree i myself aren't too keen on too many computers controlling the car. Although it seems to work fine in aircraft and space craft. Being in I.T i should be biased and say yes this is good, but I am not hehe.

Considering microsoft can't stop a simple PC to stop crashing I don't want them within 100m of my cars. The there's the security side of things... I mean, with a microsoft car you'd be able to yell at a window and it'd open.

I bet I could crash it. I've dealt with Microsoft products for too many years, I can crash anything they make.

This has been talked about before, i didnt check the link but im assuming its the same deal where the car runs pre-routed information to control its speed (i.e. it has a map of the road its on and the speed zones are loaded as part of the map) and direction. If so I dont think it will ever work.

I think it's Honda that have sensors to detect a car verging off the road and steer it back on.

I thought Knight Industries had already made a car that couldn't crash?
Seriously though, I wouldn't trust the early gen non crashables...

You just wound down the left side rear passenger window. Please restart car for changes to take effect.

Haha - when you're pulled over:
"This vehicle has caused an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, please contact the program vendor". Damn that used to **** me off when I was running Win98.

All the lights on the dash would be replaced with one big light saying "This car has caused illegal operation"
