Must be dropping my game, thought I took more photos today.
Anyway, highlights and lowlights were, playing with handbrake assemblies, wiring loom, rocker breathers, mumford link, power steering bracket, radiator support mount, plate bracing for 3rd (torque) arm, scoop development and adjusting door hinges.

The Mumford Link - imagine a watts link on drugs

Hey Ben, lovin that rear link setup and the calipers/mounts look good as well.

Looks like the A1000 fuel pump is on rubber, but if you want some trick mounts then go to your teledex and look under "R" for Rocket and order some MSD 6AL mounts in a pack of 4.... they work a treat!

b2tf .................... :

Okay, big few days coming up.
Tomorrow, off to finish the exhaust system.
Tuesday day trip to melbourne to measure, cut, bend and fit rollcage.
Monday week off for the panel beating.
Engine on the dyno shortly.

This is playing with the belt setup, more belt wrap required for our friend the power steering pump. Alternator needs a bracket too, but getting an idea of space to use now.

The lads fat-arming with the burnout rims and tyres all round. Almost a late '60s NASCAR stance.

oh yeah, dash version 4.0 went into the bin today ......... fiberglass ......

Amazing work being done since last checkup-quick question though, as it's the army footing the bill for this, how crazy are you allowed to go? Is it a case of "blank cheque" or is there a budget you have to adhere to?

Hand on my heart when I say this man, everything in Defence, everything, has a budget. Some budgets are bigger than others (not to be jealous). For this project, $1 to $1000 requires 4 signatures. And the spending does get audited.

gocruzin - interior will be black, the rising sun embroidery will hopefully make an appearance. Tan is nice, no argument there, however, grass roots, this thing is a burnout pig and will have more people pass through it than a South Melbourne Taxi, so at some point (like most in life) there has to be a compromise between appearance and functionality.

Exhaust photos to follow tomorrow ...............

I was just rereading the thread. And saw you were going with black interior and green to break it up.
May i sugest a tan leather interior, with army camo inserts and gold piping same on the doors but with rising sun badges pressed into the top forward corner, also a flat headliner with the army logo embossed into tan suede. that would look great with light brown pinchweld.
Cheers!

Gotta love Fridays :baby bott

Okay, Dash version 5.0 is in the Bin :

All the fiddly stuff went to the Electroplaters today, except for the grille inserts, anodized aluminium, whodathunkit? Need an anodizer now.

Picked up the switch panel which came from the states, should taken a pic of that.

Need to massage a few things on monday for the exhaust.

In the meantime, here is the underbelly

I'm SO glad this thread exists - awesome work, Rooster.

Having said that, it does seem a shame that this is being built primarily for burnouts (and as a recruitment tool, natch). Not how it'd end up if it were my coin, but it's not, so...

Looking forward to more updates.

Kind of agree with you here but having seeing Armygeddon in the flesh, it still looks a million dollars even after sending a fair few donuts off to Goodyear heaven, so I dont think this one will be any different.

NJXR6 - there IS a budget for this project but when you consider the cost of 1 TV ad encouraging people to join the Army, compared to how many people will watch and see this thing in action and be perhaps motivated to join up (or at least look into it), it's money well spent. As Ive said before, stuff like this shows what the guys on our side can do and Id much rather be seeing things like this come out of the Army than a whole heap of propaganda or crap like that.

Couldn't agree with you more b2tf. Can't imagine what some people would say if they knew this was happening, but it's aimed at the younger generation, which is who recruitment is aimed at. Youths are more likely to pay attention to this than tv ads.

Evening All,

okay, cheers for the support lads, appreciated, particularly on those busted knuckle frustrating days we have ................ like today.

Some more mods to fit the extractors (funny how eight 2.1/4" primaries really take up space in the bay).

Real quick trip to Melbourne tomorrow for the rollcage, back for more exhaust wednesday. Then start Dash version 6.0 and try and get the remote booster sorted out.

Then panel on monday ........ sorry, no photos today, promise i'll will throw some in tomorrow.

Cheeers

Sensational! This is comin along great!

As for interior, camouflage material seats?? Have seen an example on a car from the US. They did the camo and had some netting embroided into the underside of the seats and down the front side panels...looked great! Would go well with the army theme and all

Keep the pics comin Rooster
