Default Melbourne's 'Safety Cameras'

Not having been to Melb for a while a see you guys have 'Safety Cameras' there.

What a great idea, actually having a camera that can tell you if your tyres are worn or if your car is unsafe!

All we have in NSW is Speed cameras.

(Yeah I know...but I'm bored!)

I drive regularly to Melbourne from Geelong and there are many camera's
along the way.

On occasion's, i may have gone over the speed limit.

I have never been done. Not once.

Are the camera's actually working or not ?

I don't think they are.

I wish they spent the money on more cops on the road than installing cameras. Cameras are only capable of booking people for speeding, when they cops could be booking people for a lot more things. Keep left comes to mind!

I went to my local Teds camera shop the other day and asked to see their selection of “safety cameras”.

He just gave me a stupid look and told me to drive along the Craigieburn bypass. Buggerd if I know why, there aren’t any camera shops along that stretch of road. :

Well they got me on my way to Geelong, doing 106 in 100 zone on a Sunday morning on a mostly empty 4 lane freeway. So now the world is safer.

That makes two of us.
On the way to the all ford day earlier this year under the old Geelong rd bridge at Hoppers Crossing. 4 lanes in each direction, flat and straight. I think the danger may have been people falling from the overpass!

If it's like Qld, then it works like this ... say there are 50,000 camera boxes, but there's only 30,000 cameras. They move them around the boxes, so you don't know if there's a camera in the box or not.

With all those "safety cameras" out there ... why is the road toll still rising? Duh!

curry munchers beware. when carbon credit taxes come in these safety cameras will be able to detect carbon dioxide, methane, and even alcohol, in the vehicle . detecting not only efficiency of the vehicles , but also the pollutants of the occupants, registraions will incurr a tax accordingly. the newer the vehicle the less rego, the lesser occupants producion carbon and methane the less tax. trees will be planted accordingly in the areas and suburbs producing more pollutants than others . immigrants with eastern diets may face higher council rates .
