Have just fitted an adj. gear an adv. it 3 degs on a Wade 1604....and now the chains rattling on the r/h guides when revs decrease....have checked and reset tensioner three times....Wot now???

The overlap in some cams makes all sorts of over run problems in the OHC Cams.
Instead of explaining the whole thing, you need to find out whether is doing it from idle to 2000 rpm, or is it quiet at idle and then noisy at 2000 rpm. Why advanced 3 deg ?
