Default Kwinana Shannons Nostalgia's 22nd Feb

My mate Craig Gerdes leaves Melbourne tonight for the long drive to Perth for the Shannon's Nostalgia meeting.

He runs a red HK Kingswood, with a blown Haddad built 572, his times are around 7.10@180+mph.

I spoke to him this morning, and he is looking forward to running the beast, Saturday, Sunday and on Woop *** Wednesday too.

Be sure to check him out if you are going, he is a real showman and loves giving it his best.

I'll be there, but spectating not racing. Will be good to see Craig's car, even if it is a brand G. Anything that goes that quick gets my respect.

I will be spectating this year. A mate will have his green lj with a 730hp sbc there. Again, a dirty gm but definately a weapon! I will be racing at the western nationals though. Should be a good meet.
I belive Craig Gerdes will be at that meet too.

Seen it on the weekend, looked very impressive compared to tube chassis vehicles compared to all steel.

Murray Anderson has done most of the chassis work on it...he is a genius with drag racing set ups.

Explains alot.

He did very well, humidity was a terrible compared to what we normally get (thank the cyclone up north) but considering the estimated altitude from the air density (around 800m ?) it ran a few 7.4's in qualifying which was impressive.

Still didnt stop a few doorslammers from running 5's. :
