I'd grown tired of the stripes on my car so I ripped them off this afternoon with the aid of a hairdryer. Not sure yet what I want to do next. I quite like the clean look so I might leave it like this a while (at least until the creative bug bites again).
Last week: Today:

Looks heaps better without the stripes .... as does any car.
Surely everyone is sooooooo over the whole cheesy stripes thing by now? I dont think you should have an ST badge on an LX either, that's just plain wrong, other than that she looks very nice. |

Twinpiston: Thanks mate. I'll post interior pics once I get it clean (not easy with my 3-year-old always leaving raisins or tissues everywhere).
Rob: Yeah, stripes are so overdone these days, especially with every third Swift or Yaris owner jumping on the bandwagon. The ST badge is coming off too, as soon as I get the blue RS badge I ordered from eBay (joke! )

I sprayed the mirror housings blue over the weekend, because I couldn't leave well enough alone.
I like how clean (and unadorned) the car looks for a change. A shot of the filthy interior. I used a Mk.5 Zetec S badge from eBay on the steering wheel. The Lockwood dials had the ST logo printed on the face. I'll be ordering another S badge to cover it.

Is it a reskinned steering wheel with the silver metal piece on the bottom?
Looks good so clean and smooth on the outside. I need to decide what to do about my seats and then I am pretty much finished on the inside, and some colour coding and smoothing on the outside.

Twinpiston: It's just a steering wheel cover I got at Supercheap. The metal trim piece is a bit of aluminium sheet I cut to shape and bent over a wooden former (took all of 15 mins to do).
Have you thought of seat covers? I've had mine for nearly 4 years now and they're only now starting to show wear and tear. Good ones cost about $50-70 a set. If you decide to go this route, make sure you get the type with separate headrests. Something I quickly threw together in Photoshop today:

Very unfortunately, I really really hate car seat covers, don't know why. Maybe the splippery surfaces moving, the dodgy patterns......
I might try sewing myself, just need a larger needle in the machine. Might start my mod thread instead of hijacking yours... Top bit of photoshopping.
