Read an article in todays H-Sun about the tweel, Michelin have developed a new airless tyre (as seen below).
also heres an article from michelin about the new wheel: http://www.michelinman.com/differenc...01102005a.html You can only imagine what they are going to charge for a set of these. I wonder if it will ever take off.

I remember we had them on the trike my brother and I used when we were 5. They were pretty good wheels too. Looks like Michelin have stolen the idea. Shame shame shame.

I'd hate to do 80 into a corner with them on the front,or back. Looks like it would just fold over. :

COol idea, but it will have its draw backs and probably a large price tag to boot.

I think you're all missing the biggest concern - how are we going to turn them into spinners? :P

Awesome idea! But i cant see them becoming too popular with people that want to turn corners, seems as though if they "upwards" i cant see why they wouldnt bend "outwards"... Even the wheel on the other side is crushed... wouldnt be too good for hard launches either

By looking at the spokes, they would probably handle quite a beating around corners with axial loads, but would still be good with radial loads like general dampening and also drag racing launches. It would act a bit like a slick flexing on launches. Go the trendsetting it:
