Default Clear side indicators; genuine or aftermarket?

Hey all,

I'd like to replace my clear side indicator covers as they're looking a little rough. Ive had a look on eBay and non genuine ones cost less than half than genuine ones (that come with globes admittedly, but my globes are fine and I get them cheap as chips)

Just wondering if anyone has bought aftermarket ones and whether they look different/cheap and nasty compared with the real deal. I once got an aftermarket front indicator for an EA and it was terrible; different sort of plastic and the colour (amber) was way off.

I paid a lot for my clear side indicators from Ford, but I have never looked back or questioned my decision on the quality.

Fair enough guys.

My dilemma is $16ish aftermarket vs $50ish genuine. Not to sound tight, but 30 bucks is 30 bucks.

Yeah Dave those prices are for the pair. The aftermarket ones are very tempting for $16, but if they're pox that's money that could've gone towards genuine ones. And seeing as everyone here has gone genuine...ahh the dilemma hehe

The aftermarket ones have like a orange sleeve type thing inside, and just use a clear bulb, which means theres still orange in them, where as genuines use an orange bulb. i had aftermarkets on my EB and they looked alright but faded yellow very quick, as in a couple months. Now my AU is a series 3 so im guessing the ones on there have been on since new, and they still look new.

If it was me i would go genuine, just go to a wreckers or something and try to get a better price.

Genuine Ford clear indicators that require amber globes AU3 13K309 A $19.00 each and amber globes AU3 13465 A $4.35 each. You could more than likely get the amber globes from Autobarn or Super Cheap for $2.00 each.
