The two-wheeled Range Rover
Jez Spinks March 10, 2011 - 1:40PM 4WD company builds a one-wheel-drive concept bike. This is a Range Rover that won't go off road but is guaranteed to be the company's most fuel efficient model. Britain's 4WD specialist has built a new one-wheel-drive mode of transport - a racing bike designed purely for the road. The concept road bike has been designed by Land Rover as the "ultimate accessory" for the company's smallest model yet, the Evoque that's due in Australia later this year. The Range Rover bike is constructed predominantly from carbon fibre, with the exotic and lightweight composite material used for the monocoque frame, forks, handlebars and wheel rims. Drivetrain components comprise a 20-speed 'Ultegra' transmission from Japanese bike components specialist Shimano. Land Rover says the custom-made wheels are designed for aerodynamic efficiency as well as stability. They're wrapped in triple-density rubber said to offer both durability and strong grip. Other details include a leather saddle and silicone gel handlebar grip, which match the colour of the bike's frame. Transmission and braking components are finished in black.

At least it wont suffer from the terrible Lucas Electronics bugs. Looks pretty cool though.

Is this a joke?
The entire bike is made from Other Manufacturers parts (note: some are very good parts) and it is probably assembled in Taiwan too. Exactly what did Land Rover make? Or should I paraphrase my question with the following "because Land Rover didn't manufacture any part of this bike, it will be reliable" |
