Hi all, Not sure where this should actually go so thought here may be the best place for it.
Doing some study for my exams next week by reading Just Cars mag. Lol Well recreational study anyway. Found a 1979 Farimont Ghia 351 FMX which is stated as 4WD. I have heard rumors and seen a couple of threads implying they existed. Just wish it was in Victoria so I could go have a look at it. Anyway here is the add!

Lol thought it was very weird. Haha giving my age away there and lack of knowledge. I would never have even considered that it stood for 4 wheel disc.

There was to be a twin turbo AWD XF falcon, but the EA came out before it was produced. Correct me if im wrong but Tickford lost the plans or stuffed the plans and by the time came the EA was already on its way.

did tickford design there inline 6 of was that a follow on from the Peter Brock 6 because they had the same power

I've got an old Motor magazine with the prototype XF four wheel drive turbo six cylinder Falcon on the cover. They drove it in England and it was amazing...it looks just like a normal Falcon, and it drove very well too.
Until a road tester punted it into a roundabout in England and stuffed the front end. They were supposedly going to be the big banger of the age, and sadly Ford didn't go with the concept. The twin turbo engine did live on in a few Falcons, and I know there are at least two in Queensland...apparently one is in Mackay, and a guy I work with has one in a shed amongst a dozen other XF's he owns. The alloy inlet manifold goes across the top of the engine, with the same square pattern of depressions in it as the alloy XF EFI tappet cover moulded into it. |

EB engines were different from EA, and power ratings are irrelevant anyway, as it doesn't mean they are the same.
Brock Falcons only had extractors and exhaust I think, XR6's had different head, bigger valves, cam and extractors. 161 kw for XR6. How much power did the Brock Falcons supposedly make? |

Front Wheel Drive and Four Wheel Drive are also often confused for each other (FWD).
