I have seen this done ... it's not good for the motor.
Also don't stand over the can the petrol is in while the napthalene is in there ... it'll knock you out ... it's strong when mixed.

I will block engine internals ... increase combustion chamber temps ... cause detonation ... kill your motor literally.

Also will screw the filter for the in-tank fuel pumps too ... clog fuel lines.

Seriously ... don't do it.
You'll be up for a new motor.

maybe you should read the actual thread first before you reply.
as for increased temps, over 150km have been done so far and the temp gauge hasnt moved one bit.
no real noticeable performance gain yet, but damn does the zorst sound meaty now!!

While your testing things, can you put a bag or two of sugar into your tank? I'd be interested in the results, thanks.

Your temperature gauge tells you water temp (wherever the temp probe is located in your cooling system) ... not internal combustion chamber temperature ... so there's no real way of telling. Unless you have pulled the motor apart and inspected the internals after usage.

ok. out dated update:
the zorst sounded better. a damn lot better!
fuel econ didnt change for that tank. this new/clean tank of fuel is considerably less.
at the end of the tank, acceleration had studders when cold.
still having cold acceleration troubles but getting better.
does moth balls give you more performance?
no, but youll get a better exhaust note!!

I'm no tuner or mechanic, but wouldn't you have to advance the ignition timing for it to have any effect?

I know what you mean by the sound though, every time I fill mine with premium I swear it sounds deeper, but I can't figure out if it's just my imagination.

Erm, if combustion temps are higher then of course water temp will rise.
