Question Ford Transit Connect in Australia??

I was just stuck behind a silver Transit Connect at a set of traffic lights here in metro Perth. What gives? It was the current shape, with reversing sensors and a diesel engine.

A check of Ford's website reveals nothing, and I was under the impression this vehicle won't be coming here? Can't see it being a private import (why bother, just buy a Caddy or Combo) and it had D series plates on it which means it was new.

Any ideas?

Could be a private import still cheaper to bring a car with you from the UK if you have owned it for more than 12 months you dont lose out on selling it and then buying a new car over here at our crazy prices.
