Er umm.. the article says..
Quote:
If the straps failed because of a manufacturing fault then yes... or if it was a newish F series and it rusted within the warranty period.. ok... but THIS is rediculas. Salt corrosion due to snow is not Fords fault... what a load of bollocks. On a 1997 model???? The thread tittle is wrong... there is no Fault with Ford.

This will just cover them from litigation. Also they don't need a modern day pinto.

Still glad there are systems in place that make auto manufacturers tell us about these problems and hold recalls to fix them...they could just do what was done in decades past and sweep them under the carpet and say "what problem?"...

At least their recalling them. Its not like they "have" to on models that old. Ford Oz would die of laughter if it were proposed to do this (recall) to 97 model Falcons....
