It looks far better than the outgoing one. Hopefully the GT will look better and perhaps another Tuned by STi version. Certainly nowhere near ugly.

Same with every generation of car though...1930's cars all looked similar...40'2 50' etc.. We have seen what happens when a design escapes the current flavour, fords Edge design moment didn't appeal to everyone out there...BMW's Bangle-led "flame surfacing"... To sell volume, it needs to be bland...niche models are where you see the creativity...

I just sold my 07 Manual Liberty. It was such a sexy classy looking car and had the silhouette of a BMW. The ride and handling was absolutely superb.
The latest Liberty's no doubt would drive beautifully but my goodness they are ugly. They remind me of Noddy's car. It's not slimline anymore and it's obvious they are trying to be the direct opponent to the Nissan Maxima. The new Mazda 6 series has now stepped into the Liberty's spot as the poor mans BMW.

There must be a limit to the number of new ideas car designers can come up with.
They've all been done before. I think they've simply run out of them...... Four wheels. Four doors. Standardised legal regulations regarding heights of headlights, tail lights, bumpers etc. Then on top of all this the vehicle has to pass safety crash tests...and it has to look good and appeal to millions of buyers. There's only so many ways you can bend a sheet of metal. |

My AWD Subaru gets me through sand, mud, riverbeds, ice and snow when it's not doddering about town, a 2wd wouldn't cut the mustard. |

There's some new pics floating around now without the white studio background that are significantly easier on the eye compared to what we saw in the 1st series of pics. A guy over at Australian Liberty Forums photoshopped an STi grill in and took out the orange from the headlights as that is a U.S model thing and it actually looks ok.

Having driven an AWD car for 14 years prior to my FG, in the wet I felt much safer in my AWD car than the FG.
