Hi guys I have just bought an EF XR6 and I am a bit confused as the compliance plate says March 1994 yet the model didn't come out until August of that year with the XR range a month or two later i think. Is it unusual to have a build date so much earlier than a model's release date, and can any information be obtained from Ford?
Thanks in advance, Matt

I had a BA Falcon as a company car - it was a June 2002 build. To get some more possible information, I would suggest contacting Ford Customer service. You can get something printed out by them stating your build specs etc. If you are looking for info as to the history of the car that may be little harder to obtain and may even be almost impossible. |

Pilot builds are a batch of cars built months before full production starts, to test with. They are usually used for durability testing. Some are used as press cars for photography, or for motoring journos to drive. Some get crash tested
Ford won’t be able to tell you what it was used for, but it will have 3999 as the dealer code, which is fords internal delivery code. |

Thanks guys. I'll contact Ford and see what info I can find out about it. On the PPSR certificate it says model: EF XRG whatever that is. Typo maybe
