So I was reading in the Haynes manual that my Focus fitted with the IB5 manual transmission doesn't have a a drain plug.
My question is how do I get most of the old oil out? Will removing a driveshaft get most of the oil out or is there a better method When dealing with this transmission? Cheers |

Does it have a fill plug ? If so, maybe you can use a large syringe & some plastic tubing to remove the old oil.

nk. I've read others have used that plug to drain the gearbox but I have also heard others have damaged their gearbox using this method so I am a bit worried about draining via the detent. Maybe I am better using some tubing then? I dunno. Last edited by Minerva; 20-12-2023 at 09:29 PM. Reason: Grammar |
