I agree with you insofar as the technology can assist with reducing accidents. I also agree that for some vehicles, the driver aids are supportive and not intrusive.
My gripe is with the way ANCAP and Euro NCAP have thrown their weight around and forced this technology down everyone's throat. And then cried "it wasn't our fault".
My specific sticking point being that if doesn't reset back to "on" at the next engine start, it scores zero.
The good folk at ANCAP are not stupid. The engineers on the shop floor would have known that their specifications was resulting in aggressive and intrusive intervention in some makes. Why common sense did not prevail is beyond me.
