I must be getting old.
That's probably because the race was so boring it put you half asleep.
I watched the flag drop, lost interest after about 2 hours, checked in from time to time, came back with 15 laps to go.
Those damned Safety Cars.

Knowing that I didn't watch the Bathurst 1000 and have successfully avoid all the news services so still don't know (or care) who won.

Looking forward to the 2022 Bathurst 12 hour race.

Customising a tool without losing most benefits of the original. And then beating the rain, working kerbside. Gearbox oil changed, mileage unknown, G70 added.

Note; another NPT blanking plug in an Italian car. Must have been Americans in the design team.

And Billy - have you got Serge Gainsbourg cued up?

This morning, just as I was about to exit the park I had been walking in, I stopped to look at a nesting box that I knew had been housing at least one young kookaburra. (Do they have more than one baby at a time or just one?) It was there, with just its beak and a bit of its head sticking out from the box's entrance. A bloke and his wife (at least 80 years old) entered the park and I told them about the kookaburra. They said that they often heard kookas in the park but never saw them, so they appreciated seeing the bird.

A bit later I went back into the park and then as I was about to exit it at another entrance, there were two kookas in a tree. There was a nesting box there so perhaps they had a baby in there. The couple I had seen earlier were coming towards me so I was able to show them two more of these iconic Aussie birds, although the birds were cackling a bit so maybe they would have seen them anyway.

Did you hear about the fumble-fingered chap who dropped his Viagra down the loo? He couldn’t keep the seat down for a week.

Well apparently when you swallow it you have to make sure your throat isn’t dry or you will end up with a stiff neck

Sam Kerr’s pitch invader smackdown. Firm enough to be instantly effective, but lacking any sense of overt aggression.

I had to talk my mum down a bit today. So, she wants ceiling fans. I have intalled a butt tonne when i was on the tools. Im not going to be installing hers because i dont have the gear to do so.
So firstly, her concern was remote over wall switches. If it was a house, id probably still say remote. But she lives in a unit, so running the extra sdi would require holes cut and that just adds to the cost as patching and painting requires a gyprocker and a painter. Her place has recently been painted also.
So my only advice about remote controlled ceiling fans is keep a spare set of batteries in the cupboard.
So she wants 5 fans installed. So ones with lights.
First thing first, she has 3k LEDs everywhere, so keep the colour temp the same. Nothing is worse then a room with mismatched coloured lights.
Next question was up to my personal preference. Who makes the best fan? Thats well, i dont really know. Hunter pacific arent cheap but theyre quite and ive never had one not spin true. I hate ceiling fans by the way, im an ac person.
Next thing, so my mum has a consultant coming in.
I had to say to her, listen, absorb other ideas for interior decor, but dont buy what your sold if its not what you want the place to look like. Personal opinions can sway if shown other things, but being sold something is salespersons pushing a sale.
So my mums lounge room and dining area, she has a lot of vintage furniture, so my suggestion is wood vaneer and brass metal stuff for the fans. Thats all up to her. Bedrooms, flat white. If we argue about that, its flat white to match ceiling white. I wont back down from that.
In the 'entertaining' areas, its her place she can choose what she wants.
Mum calmed her farm hearing decisions are hers. She gets a bit flustered when theres 1000 different options. In this case there still is 1000 different options. But all she needed was someone to say make your own choice and roll forward from there. I did make some suggestions, but didnt push to say you have to, its just mind food really.

One week to go! I have been working on this big problem for a couple of weeks now and while I smashed one wall then I ran into another

I would feel a million more bucks better this time next week if I could tie up that loose end before I go on leave. Still 5 days to hopefully figure it out

I was around at my brothers today. He has some oddball skin infection so i was working on his car. Anyhow, he got the smoker going, and whilst i did car stuff he par boiled the pork ribs in a broth he made. Then it was ribs in the smoker for a coupla hours to give them that extra. Not going to lie, dunno what was in the pot before the smoker, but man, was that some good eating.
