My hardcover is actually very light, I've had it off a few times, I would say about 10kg, the tailgate I havnt tried, and i believe that may carry quite a bit of weight.
Will take the weight off once my personal goal is reached (10.5x).

Tailgate isn't much, took this one off once guessing 12kg.

if we can run 8's on a radial then no worries laying down the power for a 10-sec pass. slicks/radials made no difference.

can't argue with that. you will probably get more life out of them as well. a good set of slicks you get 50-60 passes, radials they start to go off after 30-40 possibly less if you drive on them. once you stop 60in' well time to change.

What oil are you using in your BTR?

Also how firm do you have the shift set for street use?

Do you use a external tranny cooler?

Cheers
Matt

Not sure on the oil, whatever Bayswater transmission use, pressures on the 4 speed is pretty much at its limit, the changes are very firm and quick, its like that for street and strip.

I have an external cooler setup in front of my foglight, its been there for 4.5 yrs.

Heres a vid of my 10.63 run.

approx 200kg went from the F6 sedan 10.80@131 Calder never got another shot booted out no cage to 10.47@135 HPR.
light weight wheels, exhaust and front seat are the big weight losers, the after market stereo I wasn't going to remove (only the sub).
Rod could have went further eg: door motors, aftermarket stereo, door trims etc, but it has to go back together.
Remove the weight from the axles its worth double, the OP's Ute was on steel rims so weight wise this is worse than the factory alloys and he can improve on this time if he can loan a set of drag lites..

I thought it was the other way around. My factory steel rims are lighter then my factory alloy rims. Talking 16 inch rims the alloys are also wider then the steel rims.

Must be different weight factory alloy and steel rims due to size etc.

You could also look at removing the handbrake drums or what ever they are called.

Yeh will look into a couple of these things, Heathcote would be more viable to try and run it with weight reduction , as like you said , they'll probably kick you off after one run.

There is 43lbs to be saved going to 15 x 6 prostars and 195/65r15's on the front. Another 50lb changing from leather seats to Jaz'z

Mine is under 1500kg, now I just need your power

Getting it to 1500kg is pretty good going. You dont need much power if youve dropped 300 +kg.

Yeh and power starts costing alot more than you anticipated..lol, and ends up being like a piece of string, how far do you want to go? When are you going to be happy enough with the power you have?

slicks are lighter than radials also, we went from a 28x10.5'' slick to 275 MT ET Street we seen about 6kg difference each side.

How did you get the 15 inch over the brakes, smaller brakes or different offset or some other method.

I swapped over calipers with the guy I bought the rims off, saved me a few hrs grinding and trying the wheel on.

Those handbrake drums I found (on mine at least) were tight as. I backed mine right off so the disk spins freely (handbrake does not work as well). Before, I was barely able to spin the disk with out the wheel on it! The main reason I did this was due to the left rear sounding like someone was sharpening knives when at slow speed.

Good job Ivan and well done, this has to be one of if not the quickest standard turbo times me thinks.
