I live in Melbourne and my ex wife had her car registered in NSW because it was cheaper and used to drive her Capri to Albury every year for a roadworthy.
That's another thing, how come states differ with their roadworthy laws.
In Victoria you can drive a bucket of !@#$, until the cops slap a canary on it.

Said that V8's are faster, therefore do more speeding, therfore kill more people so should be punished. And 6 cylinders are only marginally slower so we'll ONLY charge them $800!!

And people vote for these types of morons.
What can I say?
Is that deadset? How can the policy makers justify that as the reason to increase registration, what a joke QLD is.

Victoria goes in three prices, just depending on your post code for your TAC 'Risk'

Most Suburbs are High Risk, very outer Suburbs Medium Risk & Country Low Risk

I live in a High Risk suburb, but the 'Garaged Address' for all my vehicles is in a Medium Risk area

CTP isn't based on the model make of your car.

It is based on your suburb, your age, your driving history, insurance etc.

If you paid $700 then your prob under 25 living in a suburb deemed to be worse than others without going into your driving history

Just for comparison, I'm in the states for a few years and they have a sliding Rego.

New car was over $500, my older 2000 Toyota Toragao is $93??
When you buy a car you get a temp rego sticker, is only a few $$'s for 2 months.
Shame we can't emulate that in Australia.
