Nice. What stall did you order? Be sure to remove the tranny cooling from the radiator when you install a decent cooler.

Bit of an update ...

Spoke to someone at PWR via email and they recommended using the PWO6115 p/n trans cooler. Apparently made for the BA with the auto troubles they were having. The kit is boxed and ready to bolt on straight away, no mods needed which is good. So i have that sitting here atm.

Converter was ordered last wednesday and haven't heard back from TCE yet but hoping sometime next week i'll have it.

Also i've organised for the ute to get the converter put in etc when it arrives so hopefully not long now.

Ok for starters that pwr kit does not suit the AU .. not sure what the guy from pwr was on about .. brackets do not suit the AU. Trans cooler is fine though. Convertor is in and makes a big difference ... now thinking about diff gears
Not sure why i wanna keep spending money on this thing, i keep thinking about selling it and getting something old school ...
Anyway the convertor makes a big difference and adding gears would be even better ...

Stu
Bypassing the radiator has a few draw back regarding temp control and bring the transmission fluid up to operating temp if the cooler is in free flowing air.

Also the lack of air flow in heavy traffic will cause excessive heat build up as the radiator cooler has the benefit of the fans, depending on the location of the external cooler the fans effect is some what diminished.

You could consider just upgrading the radiator to full alloy side tanks and running the radiator inline with the external cooler.

Or

Running a thermostat controlled fan attached to the front of the external cooler and set the external cooler up in a non free flowing air spot.

Eliminating the radiator is a 100% sure way of not filling your auto trans with water. The rest of the arguements are - errrr very manageable.

Yep I get the reason for Air to Oil cooling and yes the temp control is manageable but is often over looked. Most of the fitting Kits are for in front of the radiator in free flowing air and a air gap between the radiator.

Oil and the transmissions works best when its within its correct operating temperature range.

No need for the condescending head slap smiley.

Yeah very noticeable difference in take off .. even with the standard 3.45 gears it want's to giddy up nicely. If you have the spare cash for this upgrade then do it, you'll love it.

Stall in
Smashed it
3 hours with some professional help ** needed **
Wedged the box between the extractors to drop it just have a few big screwdrivers handy

Now i notice little difference on take off or full throttle??
More noticeable climbing from about 40ks up to 80ks? slips and revs up to about 4k
certainly an improvement that area

Is this how they work?

stall converter is to engage the driveline when the engine starts making its power otherwise it will be laggy below the rpm the cam makes power, for instance your cam starts making power at 3k, but only have stock stall, will be a dog till it hits the 3k+

ideally stall size is done after I think max torque and rpm level is known

Thanks for the reply man
Certainly more noticeable now, since the install. bottom end lag completely gone drives way better
Fuel consumption sky rocketed, last fill was 47 liters @ 257ks. Worth it though
