Yes, but we aren't discussing 'which car is practical'.

For pure looks and nothing else, the XA-C Falcon was a great looking vehicle when in good condition. Yes, that is a challenge, but find a mint one, and ones pants need a prompt change.

I voted BA-BF I think they are nicer than the FG.

I will go and apply 2 flame suits now :
Rear legroom was identical to sedans of the time. I raised two kids in my Cobra and didn't have an issue. However it was a pain not having rear doors - that's the trade-off for having the sexiest looking Aussie built car ever!

SORRY

I did leave out the earlier falcons... which was very ignorant and poor on my behalf...

I didn't think i'd get such a response on the thread to be honest...

When we say body are we talking basic design or the whole thing?

So hard when the base models are well, base and the hero's are so awesome in a range.

I guess for me its hard to decide which is the "best" body.

The XA/B/C coupes were sexy as hell, but I tend to think of them as more of a "muscle car" type body, and they suit it really well.

I also love the XP/XM coupes, however they're a different type of sexy, instead of being all muscly, they're more of a "cruiser" type sexy.

I guess it would all come down to the look you prefer from your car.

Do we have to pick one?..........ah well, i always love the presence of the xy gt still do, but.... the fg these days in is very classy indeed in the higher spec models, ba gt would be a favourite as well.

I've always been a fan of the XW/XY body shape. Very unique shape and just looks bloody tough!!!
If only I could afford an XY GT, I'd have one - ahhh, my dream car...

xr-xt out of the old skool falcons for sure that squared body an round lights is a hit.

Out of the modern era would have to be the au in xr guise slammed they are the sleekest sexiest falcons god has put on the planet since the 70s.

Well, I was thinking body - as in the shell that captures the whole vehicle...

Obviously a base model XY Falcon 500 and an XY GT HO are two different things, but they are in the same BODY...

Maybe a new thread/poll...
Favourite Hero car?

XW - XY look awesome! But I wouldn't want a retro version done like the Mustang in the US. Then it would be the BA - BF and then FG.

Favourite Hero car?
Fair enough.

Im to much of a Ford tragic to say which one I think is best. On any given day, given the disposable income and a happy SWMBO I think I could buy any Falcon from any era and be happy.

I love the XK-XP for its smoothness, I love XR/XT because of its progression to muscle, XW/XY because its tough as nails, XA/XB/XC because of its lines and colours and still tough....then....

XD/XE because even though its a brick it's tough and was a huge change, EA/B/D because it was modern but still had some edges, EF/EL because it was sleek, AU because it is and was revolutionary, BA/F because it flowed very well and now the FG looks very aussie/euro.

Would be easier for me to say I dont like XF's....sorry XF people but I feel nothing. Yes they can look ok once modded but in general, nope.

BUT. If I had to choose one it would be a XC Coupe; white with blue stripes thanks.

I love the XW/XY shape and would have to be my favourite design. Though If I were to pick a modern design I would have to say EF/EL espciacially the XR's.

AH what about your username!

Yeah if I had to choose a sedan id go XW, had two GT's as wedding cars and was a very happy man for that trip to the church; after I got dropped off I couldn't wait to be taken back to the party in them!..LOL

XA or XB Sedan. Hated the look of the XC, both the head and tail lights never really appealed to me.

The coupes likely weigh less than the BA/F.

And of course I voted for XA-XC sedans, because the design cues of the hardtops don't make complete sense. That, and an ugly rear, bar the landau and sunken in lights of the XA. Again, only good when they're dressed with that rear spoiler, unfortunately. Very bland around the c pillar sections, too.

As a revolution from the AU, possibly. Sadly for the BA/BF IMO, the FG severely dated it.

I voted XA-XC Sedan, although it's the XA that does it for me being that it was the first Aussie designed and built Falcon and they did fantastic with it. The Coupes would be a close second as they would without doubt be the Aussie answer to the American 2 door Muscle and damn, how good did Ford make them.
