On a slightly different track,
People often forget that Ford has less than 10% of the Australian new vehicle market,
Ford is choosing which segments they want to play in and what price they want for vehicles,
it's not about maximizing sales, it's about maximizing profit per vehicle.

If Ford could get $1,000 nett profit per vehicle on all 90,000 odd they sell each year,
then that would mean an after tax profit of $90 million - something FoA would be pleased with...
I only hope we get new Eco LPI, Ecoboost, Ranger, Escape, maybe Ecosport as soon as possible to boost income.

In Rockhampton they have a lot of Prius taxis...trust me, you will have fun trying to fit four average sized blokes in one of them after a night out...especially when one is a huge Kiwi...I can still hear Nigel, squidged into one rear corner, saying loudly to the driver "What udiot thought it'd be a good idea to huve one of these little shutbuckets as a taxi?!"

How much more engineering work do you want ?
The engineering side is doing very well, I wasn't reffering to that, but the manufacturing side of things which underpins pretty much the whole operation has been a different story lately, hopefully not too much longer and it will get better.

Wthout local manufacturing the whole engineering side starts to become shaky, they both need each other to survive surely.

And it was a $1.8 million investment in PG and PD facilities and E8 programs. The other programs weren't counted in that. If you can find a press release from the time it will show that.
