Yeah, that is my thought too.

Spend some time at Pickles and you'll see the types of people who buy the expensive wrecks.

Mate recently bought a Subaru SVX from pickles in Adelaide.

Has small front end damage and a bent right lower control arm. These cars went for near 70g when new. Got this one for $1800.
Will make nice spare parts for his rally car, or fix it up and sell it on.

Saw that the other day, lol.

I was at the wreckers a few weeks ago, and there was an AU ute shell, couldnt really tell what it was, I worked it out from the interior. Needle was off the clock.

Ok, who owned this one?

Damage doesn't look too bad, but underneath could be an entirely different story.

Or perhaps a convertible ute?

Had a car dumped outside my house that looked like that a few years back. Had been stolen to order.

manual conversion + spare interior and engine! depending on the price it could be worth it or if you are handy with a panelbeaters hammer etc you could fix her up cheap.

They wouldn't - but in all honesty, that is probably the least of the owners problems at the moment. :(
