I love the Steve McQueen ad, that's awesome. And the current Allan Moffat ad is pretty cool too, but they both appeal to enthusiasts. They don't appeal to the general audience.

But thats comparing apples and oranges. To compare apples and apples, both the Ford Fiesta and Holden Cruze ads ain't got **** on that Hyundai ad.

This ad is probably one of the best car ads ever made. Holden's marketing team targeted it perfectly...

Shame all the whingers complained and ads like that are now banned.

But this isn't an ad... this is a public car unveil. This is an event that gets people talking. It's not just a TV Ad. It's about big branding the new car you are lunching when introducing it to the market.

The thing is, if it were done in Australia it would be on every news channel, paper and all over the net.

You really like this add dont you?
It's as if you were somehow involved in creating it and you're trying to hype it up for more than it is to further your ambitions.
I'm sure this is a common occurence in all facets of media actualy.

Toyota's advertising is quite smart. I keep getting glues when this ad is on.

Also most Holden ads are pretty lame. They get that one here and there. The same as Ford do.

Courtney driving and praising a supercharged GT around bathurst why can't this be used again? its a race driver driving a road car on a race track, deeply in the realm of legal in the same way 1/4 mile drag racing is legal on a track, he sung many praises of the s/c GT why not at the very least use him standing beside/with mofatt old and young agree the s/c GT kicks bootie! broaden the market appeal here instead of giving the young uns to nissan

Watched the ad, can't even remember what model car it was - only that it was a Hyundai, and if I was at the event, even at the closest vantage point I would be too far away to actually see the car. It was cheezy to the extreme and did nothing for me. Public unveil, ad is over.. so people will have to abseil down the wall to look at the car...?!

i seen The Gadget Show in the UK do something similar with live 3D effects on the side of a marble about a year ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=is8eBgT4w0M the video went viral. i'm expecting Hyundai are looking for the same thing. it showcases start of the art live effects.
