I was told to wait until the motor show before buying a SuperCharged FG GT

Guess this is what they were talking about

Nah I would be shocked to say the least if any aftermarket company gets any limelight at the Ford stand at such a show.

I was going to say happy to be corrected but I wouldnt be, Ford should do their own thing.

WIll actually go this year which will be the first time in more than 15 years! THere just seems to be a few things happening in the car scene and now that they can just concentrate on a 'once a year' thing it should be well worth it.

Wierd how the attention always falls on others except for FORD ..... I think it is forgotten how important they are in terms of our car manufacturing here. I was reading the SUN Cars guide today and 2nd page was a full page on .... wait for it ..... Holden THINKING about doing a 4 cyl Commodore ..... not that FORD IS doing one but the fact that somewhere in distant the future ..... they are thinking of looking at doing a 4 cyl one day ...... I read it just to see where it was going and as far as motoring journalism goes it really made me think WTF?

Sorry that was my waffle for the day But Ford do have some good things in the pipeline that are now coming to fruition if only they can make others take notice ..... hopefully AIMS is a good springboard for things to come!

I honest to god cannot for the life of me understand this either...its almost like some personal battle, some ego's somewhere..or more sinister some dollars that help the cars guide et al continue. I mean that 100%.

Two weeks ago the Car Guide at at a bare minimum 80% Holden content..and as you said, rubbish that will never see the light of day. They would report the Holden CEO missing his period if they had too.

There was a two page spread on LPG..and guess what, in the ENTIRE article stretching that span the new Ford system was mentioned in one foul paragraph, sentence even. Not even a good article on the work Ford has done to date...zip.

Holdens current system got a mini article, HSV's system got the same treatment. Not one exploitative effort made to promote Fords new system...completely zero.

I just dont get it, someone has annoyed someone along the line..there is no other explanation other than $$$$.

That Black edition FPV is fantastic. It makes the product very "desirable" which is what you ultimately aim for with your high end models/concepts. Well done FPV.

HSV SV Black edition to be followed by SV M Power edition, SV GT-P edition and SV Scuderia.
Nice how they pay respects to other manufacturers.

2011 Melbourne motor show: FPV's black concept
July 1, 2011 - 9:31AM

FPV's FLPV concept will be on display at this year's Melbourne motor show.

No GTHO yet, but Ford’s performance division unveils concept that hints at future upgrade kits.

Black, black and more black: It’s all about the darkest colour for FPV’s first ever concept car.

The shiny black paintwork is broken up by matt black stripes and bold 20-inch black alloy wheels. Inside, too, there’s black leather seats and additional black trim – just to balance things out…

Unlike rival HSV, though, the one-off FPV – for now, at least – isn’t called the Black Edition.

Based on the FPV Falcon GT, the concept car gets a unique front bumper expected to be used on an upcoming model.

The FLPV concept hints at the sorts of styling add-ons FPV could produce in a limited edition model. FPV is also said to be considering an aftermarket-style parts division – similar to HSV’s Walkinshaw affiliation – whereby power upgrades and other goodies would be offered to those who prefer more brutal V8 performance.

“We wanted to demonstrate the possibilities, explore the future and gauge public opinion to assist us with the evolution of FPV product,” says FPV general manager Rod Barrett about what is the brand’s first concept car.

"We’ve equipped the vehicle with the GT’s ‘most ticked’ options, such as leather trim and reversing camera. That way, it’s a reflection of what our buyers are choosing and gives us a ‘real world’ basis to get people thinking.”

Under the bonnet, the 335kW 5.0-litre supercharged V8 is unchanged, although FPV is rumoured to be working on higher output “update kits” for the engine.

Then, of course, is the flagship model – the spiritual successor to the legendary GTHO – that’s also in the wings.

The HSV black edition is a blemish on the beautiful name of Black, if I was AMG I would be taking them to court and having them remove it...seriously its a nothing more than a crap car with a few stickers a old left over motor. So dissapointed with what they delivered. No power increase so as I said its a sticker special.....shame on you HSV Shame....

FPV only made the mistake of creating a concept car that really could go into Production, there appears to be no real creativity in that concept to be honest. Holdens more recent concepts have been Effigy and the Torana concept. FPV should make it a special run and create 50-100 of the cars to see exactly who would put the dollars up for one.

They could have displayed the EcoLPI in a more flattering colour, couldn't they? It looks like Ice Mint there... say it isn't so.

I'm quite the fan of this little Rio, 1.6L turbo diesel one in manual would be a pretty sweet affair.

Wow ... that Rio is actually not bad ... looking quite Euro there.
Kia have lifted their game recently ... I think they are really trying to take in Hyundai to get a bit of market share.
