Good to see your a proud made in oz guy Blem, but unfortunatly this new lighter stang should be a 0-100 in 4.0 kinda car, even the 2.3 ecoboost will probably record a sub 5.0 0-100 with the GT350 probably entering close to GTR territory.
The FGF6 is a great car in so many ways but in a speed contest against this new mustang it will be fighting outside of its weight division . |

they wont sell any at $150k since the GT500 is only $35k in the US and the normal v8 is about $25k so i'd go double that and be around $50k-$60k here in oz
they want them to sell so they will price to sell

150K... LMAO.
They plan on actually selling a few of these things, no point building a Global platform car to only price it competitively in its market of origin. Absolutely love this car. |

I like the chrome editions to this Mustang would look good in a darker color.

What are the Ford dealers going to do once the Mustang is here and they've actually got people on the lot wanting to buy something for once?
I reckon Ford should sell them similar to how Subaru sells the BRZ and new STi; customers order them on the internet and just collects the car at their local dealer.

Don't get me wrong , if Ford Aust offered me a Super Snake Mustang @ $60k , I would jump at the opportunity in a heart beat .. However , I can't see Ford Aust making the car I would have at that price .. I will expect that the Mustang V8 will be pitched at similar buys that of the XR8 - will it be spec like the GS 315 S/C ? don't know?????
Importantly thou' - will the Aust public warm to. 2 door V8 ???. I am not sure they will ? - I wouldnt suggest that the re-introduction of the Holden Monaro was a success . I know these specially cars are in the main driven by a driver and perhaps a passenger , but we don't offen see these cars with two(2) across the front and three(3) across the back like the sixties and seventies. I guess will shall have to wait and see how the market accepts (1) the collapse of Ford Aust and (2) the two door Mustang form USA. |

I'm betting they will sell well almost no mater what the price is here.
I'm guessing the prices will roughly sit the same as similiar falcon to GTP range atm |

I am sorry , prehaps the sentence structure and content was a little off and somewhat emotional .. It should have stated , that Ford is now closing its manufacturing operations in Broadmeadows and Geelong by 2016 , shedding a reported 1200 jobs and ending its 90 yr old association with vehicle building in Aust. Following the recorded $141m after tax loss for 2012 and losses of almost $600m over the last five years - Ford has stated that due to high cost of manufacturing a relatively small no' of cars , costs were four times those of Asia and double of Europe, hence the business case to remain in Aust did not stack up . Ford manufacturing closure in Vic post 2016 , can be blamed on a poor decisions , high costs , along with its global co' failure to support Aust as an export source and in the process damning the local Aust operation to the subscale Aust market . Ford will remain - but no longer as a manufacture of Aust cars - hence , we shall wait to see whether the local maket will support the product post 2016 |

Or you could have just said, "the end of Ford's manufacturing operations in Australia" because ford will continue to employ a few 1000's in design and engineering.

The big, no the massive difference between previous attempts is they are not going to be built here, Ford Aus do not have to carry the costs of maintaining a production line for a low volume product, if the demand slows to a trickle then thats all that will be shipped over....and if theres an order for something special or not in stock in Australia, then it's no problem to slip it on the next passing car carrier, theres nearly as many of those things circling the Pacific Rim as there are trucks going up the Hume highway....

The other glaringly obious difference is that the mustang will be a the only option for both a V8 and RWD for those loyal to the brand...and to those who shop around, a cheap RWD v8 coupe is going to be a delicious option...

Yep in a few years there will be no V8 sedan or utes from either brand.
Those V8 buyers arnt going to disappear overnight. Youve also got hundreds, if not thousands of current FT86 owners who may want something a bit bigger and more powerful.
