2inch piping is pretty normal, the turbo outlet is only 2", so there is no need for bigger.
TB injectors, just a simple way to add fuel rather then aftermarket ECU, they're triggered at a certain point in the rev range (usually when boost hits)

TB injectors is part of/controlled by the Microfueler. Microfueler's were used by AVO when the first EA turbo kits came out, along with many other aftermarket turbo kits before the engine management fad began. You can adjust the duration of the spray and when they come on, in my case in comes on at 0PSI. 2" piping is to reduce the lag. When you have a small turbo etc. I'm told it's better to go the smaller piping to reduce the lag, and the outlet on the compressor cover is 2". I called up the guy and clarified this. Happy? just on the piping thing, originally I said he should turn the compressor housing around but then after looking in the engine bay, there really isn't any room. The turbo sits fairly low in the bay and if you had the piping down there it would have to go into a sharp 90deg bend to clear the block and face the battery box. It would have looked better but probably wouldn't have flowed as well due to the bend. And I'd rather take 2" piping anyday over 2.5". I used 2.5" and it was a nightmare. You don't realise how big it is till you have to cut holes everywhere. Dan's EB had 2" on the turbo side and that was fine. For sunny's setup 2" is ample.

Sunny - you won't beable to just slot ef axles into your diff. ef axles will be 28 spline, your diff will have a 25 spline centre. so basically it will never work. you'd need to gram an ed diff (or eb2) as long as it has a 28 spline centre to beable to use the ef axles.
just take it to a diff shopand say ' i want a 4 pin 28 pline lsd centre with 3.9 gears please.

Yeah too many drinks Jase lol.
Just wondering here, the car has been inconsistent fuelling and performance wise since all the piping was installed. Sometimes going well, at other times going sluggish, lagging and flatspotting. I reckon a majority of it is caused by the un-tuned state of it all, and a dodgy TPS. Now I was also wondering if the distance between the factory fuel reg and the Malpassi could cause it, as the distance between the 2 is about 1.5 metre of fuel hose. I'm 99% sure it would, because on boost the pressure has to build to 30PSI with only a trickle of fuel probably returning from the rail. Tomorrow hopefully I will change the manifold loom and fix the TPS's, then plumb up the extra injectors and Malpassi differently. I think I have it all sussed out. The Malpassi also makes strange hissing and whining noises on startup which go away mysteriously each time the engine flatspots. So I'm thinking there's definitely a pressure problem there. Anyways, opinions appreciated! Sundeep |

i still dont get how you can run two fuel pressure regs on one fuel rail and end up with a rise in pressure at the rail. wouldnt you have to remove the stock one?
what about your pump? maybe a chat to a performance shop would help? dynomotive or someone like that? and who was following you anywya?? |

Whe the aftermarket regulator reaches a pressure that is above the factory reg's pressure, the factory regulator will constantly stay open trying to relieve the extra pressure, get it?
The pump was changed on the Bundoora cruise, and it has had the same problem on both pumps. It has to be something in the way I have connected the regulators up. Sundeep |

The first reg will bleed pressure off but the second one will hold pressure.

Is your fuel pressure always at about 30psi? thats below what they should be as standard.

ok.. so the reg thing makes sense...
maybe the stock pump isnt enough to keep up with the demand of higher flow through the stock injectors PLUS two additional ones? weird noises doesnt sound right though. oh well, good luck... |

that vl type noise is caused by the air going back to the turbos getting sliced by the blades i would get a bov asap.
