VX SS wagon. Or BA. A ute would be mad!!

No offence to anyone with one, but Ford just can't master the art of a wagon with lines that flow. The VT-VY shape flows very nice.

Or pimp out one of those Merc vans, they look tough dumped on 19s!!!!! :

I'm thinking a BA wagon six would be mad! Turf the 182 donk, source a 240T plus all the extras needed to run it (ECU? etc), put an AU SR wagon rear kit, and a GT front end (complete with bulge).

Add GT rims, LTD/Ghia interior, and you're set ;)

Depends on what you want, i guess
The BA will have a much nicer sounding engine, although the VX/Y will probably have a bit more pull.
Remember that the BA wagon has got ancient rear suspension in it - the VX/Y rear suspension setup is newer.
Best bet is to drive both of them and see what you prefer - make sure they have enough room for you.

My thoughts exactly....I really don't like the fact that the BA wagons have the crap old leaf spring setup. The commy's have IRS and also off the shelf air bag kits : One point to Holden there. However, the BA's technically have a superior engine compared to Holdens old push rod crapper. And the BA's look better at the front but Holden wagons look better at the rear IMO. Arrrggghhhh I'm going nuts! Might have to look up some performance figures lol!

You can still bag a leaf spring axle. You can either take most of the leafs out of the spring (so its really only being used to locate the axle) and replace the shocks with coil-over (bag-over) shocks. Or you can convert the rear suspension to a 3-link and do away with the leaf's altogether.

I guess another option would be to put the whole IRS out of a sedan (LWB?) under the bum of the wagon. Then you could use something off the shelf I guess.

Bagged BA wagon on massive chrome rims- yep pretty much guarantee a magazine would be interested in that! Have a look at FAT51X's BA XT, thats what I'm picturing except as a wagon.

Anything is possible, you just have to be motivated to achieve it!

get a magna wagon you girl. I can't believe you sold the EA, I wouldn't have helped you with the clutch and stuff if I had of known you'd sell it. : just jokin. I reckon a BA XT 182 wagon dumped on 19's would look mad, and it would be original too, you don't see to many done up BA wagons. Dad's old BA was a great car to drive apart from the brake shudder, but it was one of the very first BA's and I think the later ones had that issue sorted. It went fairly good for an E-Gas motor too, so I reckon the 182 engines would haul ****

The BF is very nice too, silky smooth. I reckon if your going for a VT/VY etc you should get a V8, the V6 is sh*t you would regret it big time when my stock EA would probably beat it. :P Good luck with whatever you decide, are you going to the auctions tommorrow ?

If you've sold the EA because it wasn't practical to work in, base your decision for your next car on that. Jump in a ba wagon and a vx and see which one suits you best... which one has the most amount of room in the back etc.

Everyone is saying "get this! get this! that'll look wicked"! but IMO you shouldn't really base your decision on how it's going to look, mainly how functional its going to be.

Having said that, theres no way I could go past a BA 5.0L Wagon. That'd be fantastic!

Good luck with your decision =)

Krys, which BAs have a 5.0? ;)

The VY II SS wagon was a very limited edition only available in red and black. I forget the build numbers now. However it wouldn't be hard to whack on a VX SS or Monaro front bar on any VT/VX. You can really customise these cars.

Sorry to see the beast sold but you did what you have to do. No one has asked who bought it? I hope they know about the club.

Good luck with the new car decision. If you need any stats or anything I'll be able to help.

thats because theyve essentially been the same car since 1998. christ, the VYs still have VT door trim styles. stingy holden f@ckers.

I know it's not quite factory spec though :P

Have you looked at a Territory at all? They have some pretty cool features and IRS, or a Ute with a lockable hardcover or lockable sheetmetal toolboxes.
