It was a bit of a pain. I was so thinking of coming up with a false religion. I was thinking of the society of Quagmire ("Giggidy"), but in the end, I decided I shouldn't lie on a thing like that.

I forgot Howard invented and implemented the National census.
Hmm why do we need a census? Why does any country need a census? Oh I dunno.. Maybe so governments know how much to spend your taxes on things such as nursing homes and our health services. They don't blow it all on trips and expensive dinners (maybe an unnecessary proportion). Do you think immigration laws, national policies implement by themselves for no reason? Complain all you like, but the the government does use the information! It'd be pure anarchist if these systems didn't exist. There's a whole lot of commonsense lacking. This isn't just information for the Howard government - but for future governments to determine trends, where to put money, what to research etc. You've got more "privacy" issues using the Internet with cookies. I'm glad none of you are running my country /Rant off! Now back to cars........

They'll probably cross reference it to tax records and electoral roles. If your name doesnt come up, expect a letter.
My dad has been using the English census to track family history, its quite useful in that regard also. (99 year rule also)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have a Jamaican background so it would be interesting if I could and have a squiz at some from my family.
I was also thinking that anyone that looks at mine in 2105 will probably feel all nostalgic at the fact it was done in pen and paper. |

The apathy of some of you is appalling, what ever happened to National pride? Do you not want this country to remain as great as it is? Filling the census will help with that.
Id really hate to be fighting in a war amongst some of you

Think about it, since the last Census, we have had more speed cameras, more surveillance cameras, more laws meaning we are limited in our freedom, higher petrol, cost of living rising, hospital waiting lists out of control, road revenue not being spent properly, train lines not being expanded.. etc etc National pride is freedom, but anyone who remembers S11 Economic Forum in Melbourne would know just how much our freedom is being taken away and voicing your opinion these days falls on deaf ears.

The funny thing is i like filling in forms...I kinda had fun doing it! lol I just thought of it like one of those funny internet quizzes like 'What kind of animal are you?' and then at the end it pops up with a funny picture of a monkey doing star jumps and laughing and it tells me im a monkey..hehehe...only thing is it didnt have a funny picture at the end, nor any insight into what kind of Australian i am...lol
I have a soloution Bobman that will fix all the problems you listed...dont let anyone into Australia, dont let anyone move around within Australia, dont let anyone grow older, dont allow them to change jobs, dont allow changes in their day-to-day activity. Then... 1. we will never need another census 2. the big bad government will know where exactly to put the money because the environment wont be ever-changing and The only completely private information is what goes on in your mind... if you are missing the filter from the brain to the mouth, nothing is private personal information.

It's not sooking, but some of you need to take the govco glasses off and see the real world and how this form would make any great difference in our daily lives that is so different from the way we live it now.

I do know what you mean, i mean in all reality when it comes to government spending i couldnt care less about welfare/centrelink/baby bonus/NSW,VIC,TAS,SA,NT,WA,ACT/primary and high schools etc because they dont affect me directly. But i understand they are things that need to be considered as well and maybe what i put as the most important things arent what the government decides. Truth is they are never going to keep everybody happy all of the time. But the small amount of information gathered will help determine the status of our country as it is at the moment (or last night) it is a snapshot in time and will tell us more than people expect. I just dont know why so many people seem so opposed to it, even reading everything written, i still cant see why some people have MAJOR issues in completing it... i guess u have grown up in an age where personal information is alot less personal...
