I agree. I remember Ansett put in some millions of dollars (cant remember how many now) to get official sponsorship rights, but lost out with Qantas' onslaught. However this was also partly due to Ansetts poor management at the time not looking after its own interests too well. After this, I thought that diligent corporations perhaps should think twice before putting in large amounts of sponsorship money into an event.

Wether its holden, Ford, Toyota, Macca's anythings. Its not fair on the people who put all there hard-earned to be the official event sponsor, only to get some free-loading.

tell me the guys at geelong don't have the equipment to shoot the blimp down. Cricket Australia will just hire a helicopter to hover over the stadium all day.. no sweat.... Also all it takes is an anonomus phone call to police saying that you saw some one taking pot shots at the blimp. By law the blimp must be grounded and inspected by air services Australia before it can head for the sky's again. it will be grounded for weeks.

guys its also powered by holden marketing with all the hot air they have been spewing forth about the VE.

Lets see...an airship was responsible for one of the worst air disasters and Holden has one.

It did 20 odd laps over my town this afternoon before heading off to Bathurst.

lol.... they are certainly smart buggers, they knew the shadows were getting everyones attention at the grand final

I wonder if someone popped a cap in its bum whether it'd fly off in all directions like when you release the knot in a party balloon... then have a Ford blimp arrive on the scene with "BFII- Deflates the competition into the stone age"

Just a thought. Any one into model rockets. I nearly hit the police helicopter by accident one day. I am sure airship would not move out of the way that easily.

The news report would start with.
Thunderbird 2 has flow into the Holden airship

How about ford get a decent sized ground to air missile, paint it ford blue with a massive ford logo on it, That would gain them some publicity.

Maybe if Holden used a Barra instead of that bloody Alloytec, we wouldn't hear the damn thing buzzing overhead. It would use less petrol too!

Hey Albert , was over our town too , just before you , about 2-2.30 then saw it head it over your direction .

He was that low over here , sometimes we lost sight of him below the roof of next doors house .

Mmm Maybe I could have got him with part No ".303" :

I was at the MCG for the first final there this year, And the blimp was going around, Never once during the game did it grab my attention. What you see on tv isnt what you see at the ground.

Very true was a surprise that someone else didn't think of it.

Out of all this the AFL comment is stupid. When the VE was being unveiled 2 min away at telstra dome a single Toyota Aurion drove out onto the surface and they announced not before some Toyota guy spoke about the aurion, But they announced that they were extend the partnership with the AFL Toyota. Tell me that wasn't planed? For that day for that time.

Oh lighten up a little....this world is going to the craphouse because of political correctness from morons like you....you state your last name is german and you find this farrrrrken offensive.....go look at your history book son and look at your own german background and heritage, & what the german people inflicted on the world.....before you critisise some here with a harmless sense of humour that will do no harm to no-one. FFS just go back to just commodores where you are liked....maybe.
