GCFordChic I've got both kinds around my house. Unfortunately they (euro's) are well and truly here to stay, like all of our other imported pests. Over here in SA if you can find the Euro's nest, your council will usually eradicate it for you, or you can try the various methods discussed here ( fuel and fire being my favourite!)

I've had a couple of Euro wasps dive bomb me when I was in the bathroom having a shower. Thought they were moths at first. Saw the yellow bits and bolted out the bathroom door (grabbed a towel on the way out).
Made Dad go in and spray them.

UPDATE,

I was looking out the window the other day and I saw a large wasp, unusually large. I went outside to investigate, Euro Wasp for sure, holding half a bee!

Went to the shed, got the straw broom, ca-whack, one dead wasp. Upon inspection, it looked like it was a queen. It seems she had come out of hibernation, looking for some tucker and a new place to build another nest for the Summer.

Man was I thankful I saw and killed it! God willing, we won't have many round at all this BBQ season! LOL!
