Hook, line and sinker. I swear it's something about these ST cars that hooks people. I know many people, me included that were hooked after a drive of the old ST and purchased one looks to be the same with this one aswell.

Invested in my first dSLR today, cleaned the whitey up for a few pictures to see how it went, merely an amateur but they looked OK, next step is some lessons

Thanks, see you have similar tastes, your previous ride looked pretty sweet too, pity I was too stupid with my previous purchase not to go the XR5 route , I somehow avoided my "blue belonging" without realising my error in judgement at the time. Anyway, that's in the past, how good are these things for a little over 40K on road!

Gotta agree, i love the Frozen White, a few folk asked me why i went white again i mean look at your pics.
I did love my XR5, it was in no way ready to be moved on but alas its gone. I do miss the exhaust, the intake and the way the tune drove. But the ST is in the week ive had it, blown my mind its such a great package and for 40k cant go wrong. But i doubt ill mod to the extent of the XR5, few little things here and there. But for the time being im enjoying it for what it is, a very competent hot hatch.
Ford have built a fantastic car in my eyes.
Also i bloody love the head lights they make my old car look like it had candles strapped to the front, i also like the little things it does like self dimming mirrior, auto lights and wipers, cornering lights and keyless entry.

Yep, we are on the same page. Agreed the lighting of the HID's is outstanding, where were these when I was driving my XD as a teenager I say! I have gone the unleashed tune path and I can't even put in words what this does to the mid range performance for a mere $430 upgrade, coupled with with an e-Focus mount on order!!!!!! thought I would be fitting this weekend but alas delivery is now Monday I am sure this will fix any aggressive tendencies. That aside the extra's you have mentioned and the way these cars handle they are simply a pleasure to drive, makes me proud to be back in a good Ford product (blue blood courtesy of my Father)

Well I think I too will be purchasing one of these tomorrow. I was back and forth on the colour, disappointed the blue was so purple but have decided on white, as previously mentioned will be dark tint, possible rims black, black decals and maybe a black wrapped roof.

Yeah, it's pretty nice. And it will surprise you how many places they squeezed a red light into

Wish we had the Colour selector like the USA gets though. Maybe it's in the 2013 models?

It isn't fitted to any European assembled ST's unfortunately - I'm not even sure whether it's fitted to any European Focus' at all now that I think of it?

Well after having a good read about the forthcoming Fiesta ST, I am now having a think
about the Focus ST again! I think from time to time that it might be fun to get back into
a hatch again..... It's been a few years as the last hatch I had was way back in '96
when I had a worked '76 1.8L Golf. It was old and pretty rough, but it was fast! (for the time).
My father also had a Pug 205 GTI back in the day, and I just loved driving that car.

I believe that the initial import run for the 2012 ST was 200 or 250 cars (?) and there
are still 67 of them on carsales... some with some OK prices by the looks of it.
I've had a pretty good look and a sit in an ST, but not a drive as yet.

To DJM and any other current owners of the ST....
I would be grateful for any comments on how the front seats go over the coming months.
ie. Do they loosen up a bit and become more forgiving with some 'wear-in' time ?

By the way, the white STs look great to me!

Many thanks.

We have had ours since December, and we aren't the skinniest of people. And yes, they have bedded in nicely. At first they were a bit tight, but now they've come to us.

Just remember, you have to sit "in" the seat, don't just sit "on" the seat. It's hard to explain, but you really have to sit how the seat wants you to.

Still, we did a 3 hour drive the week we got it and it was fine. Definitely not uncomfortable.

This advice doesn't apply if you are skinny (they're perfect from the outset in that case), or if you are super big (you'll probably never get comfortable if your skeleton doesn't fit in the seat. Flab hanging over the edge is fine )

Yeah my seats are still hard. I'm only a smallish build, 70kg and they fit me perfect. Bare in mind mine only has 1400kms on it. So early days.

Looks like we gonna have a white army on here soon.

Thanks for the comments there Chris and DJM. I wouldn't call myself a big bloke
at 5'11" and 83kg (is that medium size maybe? I dunno), but the seats were certainly
'very snug' on first impressions. Maybe a new gym regime will sort the issue out eh !

Keep the comments coming gents, as the seats age!
Many thanks.
