Thanks Russ. One question though. Is there a reason why there is a fix window for my own posts?

Pro tip - the same synthetic sealant you should all be using on the surface of your cars can also be applied to your wheels to prevent grime, grit and dust sticking to them.

And it isn't always the best idea to wash your car that often as it can speed up the onset of rust. You're better off spot detailing in between washes and making them a little less frequent.

Do wax (polymer sealant) the wheels too but it doesn't eliminate the problem. Can't help thinking it has something to do with the pad composition.

Traction control and fake LSD is handled by brake force so you're going to be prone to dusting.

Hmmm, yeah, something I didn't really consider too much, although I can't see these being in operation all that often in day to day driving.

Agreed. Day to day driving the TVC isn't going to produce the dust I've seen on my car. It has hardly been pushed and the front wheels are a dark shade after 3 days. It's the pad composition more than TVC.

Logic says that it's the pads for sure .... Maybe after some time there will be
a few pad options tried by some of the ST owners? Perhaps the preferred
pad type from your XR5 days would do the trick?

Or I'll just paint my wheels
Yeah, I'll just put up with it for a bit for now. I don't want to change pads just yet. Thing is these wheels although they look easy to clean, they aren't unfortunately.

if it is not an option on your model ( non ST) there may not be the wiring to support it in your loom.

Is it just me or does that same Reverse Parking Sensors which are the dots in the bumper which makes it go beep beep beep

Edit - I see the link at the top but the specs at the bottom refer to it differently. I'd be wary of it!

Get used to the brake dust, it's a European car and all Euro cars have pronounced brake dust issues. Change to a different pad will more than likely result in replacement of disc rotors more often.

Wow, probably shouldn't be shocked with an automotive part price but that thing has all the technology of a $30 webcam.

I'd go aftermarket before paying OEM inflation.

You would spend 40K on the car then fit a poor fitting, inferior quality part just to save a few quid. That doesn't make any sense

Neither does not optioning the item in the first place. (I'm talking about the reverse camera, in case you didn't pick up on that).

Chiming in here with my initial experience with the e-Focus rear motor mount. A slight increase in NVH on initial start up and run, nothing too much of a bother. Some partially spirited driving revealed a tighter car. Shifting did seem a bit firmer. Haven't has a chance to really test the wheel hop and shift bang I have had in the past (might have to remove the tune with launch control to get a really good feel) but will endevour to do so soon.

Oooo launch control, this just got me excited, please explain, how can you get it just from a tune? how do you activate it etc? Also picked up my brothers ST Focus today, had so much fun driving it, I can't wait to get mine, hopefully only a week away!!

Wow, two in the family, that is surely a first. The launch control is a recent development from the unleashed tune, it basically holds a predetermined engine speed when initiating a standing start, there is about 5 settings from memory, I left it at the standard 2500 rpm. It pretty much limits the take off engine speed to the setting you choose, avoiding any tyre smoke from a slightly heavy foot. Only just applied it and to be honest haven't worked it fully but initially it appears one of those things that make a car feel unnatural, like when ESC takes over and seems to fight your own corrections when you are outside the smartarse ECU tolerances.

Will be interested to hear your feedback re the shift bang as mine does it quite bad when pushed hard.

Just to clarify is the e-focus mount you have an oem ford part?

I havnt had any issues with mine yet, but it only has 1700kms on it and it hasnt been pushed though.
E-Focus mount is a genuine part but i doubt you will get it from FoA as we dont have the car here.

Mine still only has 100kms and in the few times I have given it a bit 1-2 it has given a decent bang on shift.

Thanks - Have found the oem ford part on ebay so may end up doing it if it continues to be a problem

I consider it a must have after the experience so far, Haven't had a quiet time to test shift bang, I pretty much had to floor it between changes to create it before. I have however performed some reasonably quick take offs and it feels so much different, even seems to have cured torque steer to a degree. NVH is up a bit, is noticable on roads that aren't all that good, but worth the trade off.
