Or is the Holden the most powerful because it has a bigger badge number, and no doubt would win on an 'engine' dyno......

Performance figures, sale figures, looks and so on are all irrelevant here......
Until ford release a locally made car that has a power rating of 430+KW the order will look like this:

1. 430KW GTS
2. 400KW LSA Clubsport
3. 351KW GTF

Gonna be embarrassing for that 400kW clubby when it gets stomped by the sprints...

Badges don't really mean squat, I agree the gts has more drive line loss than the gtf and it pips it for power at the fly while as we've seen in two independent test with engineers on-site the gtf pips it at the wheels. The Clubsport certainly does not regardless of its badge.

Maybe , but pound for pound I reckon the clubby is a better all round package off the showroom floor. Clubby is an evolution of something with a bit more substance whilst the sprint is an evolution of a bitsa......
And then there is the subjective nature of the aesthetics that you have to live with day to day....FGX ain't pretty IMHO.

So whilst they may be similar in a straight line they are so dissimilar everywhere else and in many areas where it really counts.
Anyways , means nothing really , just my humble opinion.

Really? That 9.9" diff won't break.... suspension bushes will take a beating,
its already IC'd , the gearbox won't snap an input shaft.
Yeah.... I'd hate all that.
Yes the only good thing about the Falcon is the engine... NOTHING else in the driveline can take the power being upped. Where as the HSV will take power upgrades all day.

Pretty sure I commented with facts and in a grown up way. Your just taking cheap shots, adding nothing, like a 'like button" whore.

And if nobody cares....why are the most passionate threads always about power, and why would the biggest Magazines and Performance car testers do a dyno battle to crown Australia's most powerful car? The Ford GT-F 351 by the way. Even HSV engineers agreed.

So if HSV stuck a T5 and an M80 diff on the GTS to get a higher rwkw, that would be more powerful to you?

Manufacturers generally advertise flywheel numbers and I'm still yet to see any figures to discredit HSV despite many claims saying they don't make it.

It's not like it would be hard to do so why hasn't it been done if it is the case?

The HSV threads always get ruined lol (and fair enough it is a Ford forum after all).

Maybe we all just have our say and if the whole dyno/most powerful engine arguement arises, just let them be.

The Clubsport is a good bit of kit but it would want to be for the price of it. The Sprints are unbeatable for value imo.

My real interest is in the GTS-R if and when it happens.

Just remember, this is it for Aussie performance cars. No more.

I suppose so. If it put more power to the ground then yes, absolutely. But in its current guise it barely puts over 300kws to the ground.
As far as I'm concerned badges and engine power like some of you say you go by is just pure **** factor. If you want to know what any car actually makes, through whatever gearbox it has, whatever diff and tyres it has and so on....you have to dyno it.
(Maybe I'll keep reminding you who won the title of "AUS most powerful car"....done on a dyno, not an engine dyno and approved by HSV)
And Express......running them down the track is a whole diff topic.

Yep but as stated earlier, that's a totally different story! The GTS is lighter, has better tyres and better suspension and diff!
From memory it's only a tenth or two off the GTS......which in isolation is amazing considering the GTFs age, price, tyres and weight...amount many things!

The GTF shouldn't be quicker then the GTS.........but it's more powerful!

So the GTS has more power at the fly.

The GTF has more power at the wheels.

The GTS is quicker over the quarter.

To quote Meatloaf – Two out of three ain’t bad.

But the GTF weighs 1835kg and the GTS 1842kg?

id love to see the dyno graph... It must put more power to the wheels for about 2 seconds and be 30 rwkw down for the rest of the graph. Otherwise how else would you explain that a heavier, 'less powerful' car puts down such superior performance numbers ? Defies physics? 12.18 is more than only a couple of tenths better. Must just have better tyres...

Just a tenth between the two.....all off the line.

Here's the most trusted, technical and unbiased review you will ever find! Put a bit of perspective back into this debate!

They are the same guys who rip shreds thru the muppets who made a mockery of unbiased car reviews with that first dyno battle! Look it up

Personally I can't wait for these guys to get their hands on the Sprints and the R8Lsa. No matter what the results, unbiased an well explained professionals garuntee a fair fight!
