It will not clear it up completely Phil, but it does minimise. I know from experience. I have no real real comparison if other aftermarket options are better, thinking good power with no LSD it will be the nature of the beast.

Lets hope, but hell, plenty of fun either way. The fact it gets dirty is a sh#t though.

I'm curious as to how you guys are driving and what vehicles you have come from?

I've owned an XR5 prior to the ST and can't say I ever experienced any huge amounts of axle tramp unless I was getting serious wheel spin or flat shifting etc.

The same goes for the ST, I drive mine quite hard and while I did notice slop in the lower engine mount (the feeling of movement between gear changes) I can't say I've experienced anything to an extent of what you guys are describing.

I have changed my lower mount to an Elevate torque mount, but only to eliminate the play in the mount during shifting - which it has done quite well.

Seems there are quite a few Brisbane ST owners appearing now. Maybe we should all catch up for a cruise at some stage?

Engine design and manufacture have changed so much in the past 10 to 20 years. In years gone by you would see the slow coach with the " engine running in sign" in the back window, pretty sure it was beneficial back then, particularly reconditioned engines. These days some swear by drive it like you stole it. Personally I would make a bit of an effort to vary revs a bit and wouldn't be scared to stretch it a bit at times too. I would also be conscious of not maxing it out or letting it labour, when you're home you should be fine to give it anything. My two cents worth.

Has anyone put a BOV on their ST yet? What are the benefits of it, easy to do etc? Sorry for the silly questions guys (its my first turbo car)

Agreed. Make sure you shift through the gears regularly, don't just sit it in 6th the whole way home

If the ST is anything like the old XR5. It never responded well to BOV and would bring up a MIL light. A decent intake will give some decent noise if thats what your after and also some performance gains also.
I wouldnt fit a BOV.

There is zero performance benefit attributed to a BOV. It is put in place to reduce 'dose' between gear changes, which is essentially reverberation within the intake. If I've seen correctly, the ST has one in place and is plumbed back into the intake system not to atmosphere.

Ahh nice thanks guys! Yeah ive seen the cobb intakes are pretty popular however does replacing it affect the electronics ford have done which pipes that awesome engine noise into the cabin?

Nah mate, the symposer is a different system and will still work with an aftermarket intake.
