anyone want to invite Jack Travis for an input? i know he resigned from any official duties with the club but that dude founded all of this, his forums got me involved and i have been to ff.com and ff.com.au and of late elsewhere.

I'll be very interested to say the least to see how the eseries section on AFF changes. I will definately be a member of both forums, it means the best of both worlds as far as I am concerned. I will wait to see how it pans out, i donated to FF.com and we moved 1 week later lol

And Yagz, pull your head in. I'd love to know how you ever got let back in honestly, when all you have done is slag sundeep flat out for as long as I can remember. Yes, he retailiated and IMO so he should have. I would have too. If what i have read in this thread is true, your last banning came from AFF admin (best decision ever).

Hopefully i only have to read your posts on one forum in the future

No worries, no one expect you to be here 24/7.

Bannings are an AFF issue I thought.

Comments like these are just as bad as the ones you guys are complaining about!
Im a member of both forums, as are many, why should we be banned from here? Theres members on here that are apart of the XR6Turbo Forums for example.
The new forum was created so long term members who were banned could still provide input and inspiration to other members.
To bring it back to the club it was, we would need the original members, most of whom are banned from here and cant reply.

And whats with people complaining about not being able to talk about "entertaining stuff"; WTF.

I assume this is in reference to people making threads in the e series section that should be in others. For ages some people seem to think that the e series section is/was its own little utopia. It was almost as if they never looked outside. Even though these people talk to each other on MSN all the time, see each other all the time etc. eg) people posting Orion stuff in the e series section.

E series is not stand alone IMO, its part of a greater good. Right or Wrong?

I'm sorry but this is not quite correct. All of the information surrounding the removal of sunny was posted in the area available for Board discussions and you contributed to those discussions yourself.

Likewise you have been directly informed of the changes that have related to you as have all the members impacted and offered an opportunity to discuss the merits of their case.

Your earlier comment in relation to "us" installing moderators to suit our needs is also incorrect as the three selected were all endorsed by the remaining moderator.

While on the topic (seeing as you raised it), let me add that it has now been more than 2 weeks since the e-series board was supposed to hold a meeting to discuss these "urgent" issues, which meeting has still not yet actually managed to happen so if I read that correctly we would strill be waiting for your input as a collective group?

Russ

Thats the idea but admin seem to think banning people for stirring the pot is the way to go and thats just rubbish. Fair enough if they threatened someone, but most is harmless fun. Look at this thread, theres a whirlpool in the pot atm its stirred so much. Great entertainment
If someone is stirred and they retaliate(sp?) then BOTH should be banned, not just the one you dont like.
The E-Series members are as passionate as ever for there cars, and discussion, but its hard to have fun on here if your just gona have your head on the chopping block for having an opinion on something.

Despite some of the comments you have made over at the other forum you are still here so don't for one moment start bleating about people being banned for stirring the pot. People who have been banned from AFF have only ever been banned for a direct breach of the site T&C and most of those only after having had at least one chance.

Which, as I have stated above, we have no issue with. No one has, or will, be banned for being a member of the other forum but you should also remain aware that you are posting on a public forum over there.

I think an opportunity exists for those doing mods on their e-series to go ahead and use this forum what it is intended- to share experiences and knowledge with others.

What better way to stop the rot and get things back on track by posting some relevant e-series info and helping other people who may want to learn as well.

As for over-moderation- nothing is done without it being warranted, even if some may say otherwise

Funny you should say that - there are those who have wanted that for a long time (back to FF days in fact) but I actually believe (perhaps foolishly) that this group as a whole have made an excellent contribution to this forum and that the issues we have experienced were an inevitable side effect of having that contribution. Partly because there were some personality conflicts but also partly because there were little cliques throughout the group that had a splintering effect.

But hey - it's a free country. If you want to take all this somewhere else then be my guest.

I'f you're referring to me, I suggest you check out fordforums.com and search for posts by "XR6Child" Also some of my early posts on here will refer to my old EF.

I was very much a member of the club close to it's humble beginnings, and enjoyed it very much, I participated in many cruises, and mod days, and socialised with members OUTSIDE of cruises. I was a Member for at least 2 years... THAT is why I still trawl these forums today, I also still have a good relationship with MANY characters who remain an integral part of the E-series community. Slowly I've seen this club turn to crap, and It's quite sad for me to see. With attitudes like yours: Whereby "If you dont have an Eseries - Get out!" I can see why you guys have the problems you have now.

I can only see good coming out of whats happening here, the crap gets weeded, and the REAL, proper contributing members (The REAL enthusiasts! - Slapping boost on an eseries does not mean you are an "Enthusiast" in my book) will rise and be able to contribute heathily to forum discussion once more.

I look forward to it.. Whether or not I drive an E series Falcon...

As E series cars became cheaper, so did their level of input into this forum. They deserve their own cheap filthy corner of the HTML world so that their bull can be spoken, and they can further bring disrepute to those who own E series vehicles.

It seem's that the Bigger the turbo, the bigger the head, and these members were once good people whose commpany and generosity when help was needed I enjoyed. It's such a shame to see what happened here. It really is!

Hopefully without them, a new age of the E-series owners club will rise, and some class and a glimmer of the companionship, pride and communal attitudes that used to prevail will return once again.

Good riddance to these absolute neanderthals, and I hope that their mates rack off with them. Lets get some maturity to mod this place! Long live the new eseries!
Am I a Neanderthal? I've been around since fordforums.com and I defy anyone to claim that I haven't been a usefull part of the club. If you like I can just take my tutorials and 16 page USEFULL build thread elsewhere.

You have a Renault. Learn to speak french, then go to the Renault forums, and stop slagging off people you don't even know. Sure, some of the banned people liked to stirr, but they also knew a hell of a lot about E-series cars, making them valuable members, if not so much valued by the people they rubbed the wrong way.

Banning 'old' members means removing vast amounts of knowlege from the forums, which is a bad thing IMHO. Banning people that are full of crap and have no idea what they are talking about FTW.

This thread is full of elitist's and holier-than-thou attitudes. Some people really need to grow the hell up; the attitudes shown by those who claim to "know far better" for lack of better words are just plain childish thinly disguised by good grammar. It looks to me as though some people don't have a life outside these (or other) forums and without the internetz they would curl up and die.

Good reading guys, keep it up!

TOTALLY AGREED. I have never really participated in this type of thread.. but i am now because its literally b-****. PPl like Rollin, Dansedgli, Sunny, and Needforspeed MAY p*ss some winging ppl off but they KNOW what they are talking about AND usually they are just MADE to look bad. People like Kenaz and Ghia5l are also examples of people who also know what they are talking about and contribute sooo much to this club. WHY THE HELL ARE THEY NOT IN CHARGE WHEN THE PEOPLE THAT ARE, ARE RIPPING THE PEOPLE THAT MATTER AND ADD VALUE TO THE CLUB OUT... People like this MAKE THIS BLOODY club. When you log on to have a cry about ur falcon not turning over usually one of these ppl will be the first to help. Other ppl seem to be bent on criticizing them while offering NOTHING constructive.... The definition, the meaning of this AFF subsection is to not only discuss cars but to also discuss things on a club level... as mates. Clearly this is something that some people have clearly missed. Everyone dug into Sunny, but everybody (well not everybody) failed to realize that he was taken out of context and treated unfairly. People like Sunny KNOW what they are talking about and are essential to this club. To say they are dragging down the club.... crap... people like above make this bloody club...

this thread SHOULD be left open due to the fact that closing it achieves nothing.... it just hides the fact that there is something fundamentally wrong... why am I putting my 2 cents worth in.. because these peoples input affects MY car. I care what happens to this section..

Did anyone say anything about closing it??
If it was going to have been closed it would have been about 12 hours ago.
It is being left here as I believe this discussion is necessary to clear the air and allow everyone to voice their opinion so get off the high horse about now.

Nor do I happen to disagree that some of the people we have lost were good members to have around but each and everyone of them have had their opportunities to abide by the forum T&C and choesn to do otherwise.

Perhaps you should stop and consider why sunny survived for so long when some of his posts (as we were often reminded) would have led to others being banned? Unfortunately he took this leeway to mean he was Teflon coated but in the end that wasn't the case.

The others are still here but their destinies are likewise in their own hands. It's always been that way.

I was not directing my post at you. I was merely highlighting some feelings held by some people on this forum. I see your legal obligation perfectly and my last post referring to the need for the thread to remain open was exactly for the same reasons you mentioned. Therefore I do not think im on a high horse at all. I understand your position on some of the banned people, while I disagree, however I am only sticking up for the good things they have done as they are not here to defend themselves.

Fair enough - I hadn't seen that but given that last time I looked at my profile I had chairman after my name I think I probably take precedence.

For those that may be interested there ARE some amongst the admins that have fought LONG AND HARD for the continued participation, and existance of an E series section on AFF.
Like it or NOT the E series is a part of the Australian Falcon family(and as such an important part of AFF) & NO amount of matyrdom on the behalf of a few that feel like they are the be all to end all of all things E series need to take a long hard look at themselves (You know WHO you are!!!) is going to stop that.
Let me make one thing perfectly clear - Whilst ever I have a say in things here - There will ALWAYS be an E Series section here on AFF!!!
For those that are concerned that AFF wish to interfere with the running of the E series club, might I suggest you ask your duely appointed club officials for a copy of meeting minutes, or a complete draft of conversations they've had rather then blindly listening to their accounting of the facts. Have these voted in persons been completely open and honest with you????
A few points to consider.
Admin HAVE been in touch with Club representatives to help them secure the clubs future on numerous occasions (Often quoted incorrectly as outsider interference / control)
AFF have gone as far as offering to pay for club registration fees. ie get the club officially registered. Something that despite numerous concerned discussions your duely appointed officials have chosen NOT to act upon.
AFF have on a number of occasions removed content in line with site terms and conditions that are viewed as being illegal in nature. The removal of this content is NOT as a killjoy, but a neccessity as not only are the individuals displaying this content liable, but also club officials / and further to that AFF site administrators. As a polite suggestion to those that decide to join ea falcon.com you consider the possible consequences of publicly displaying your 5 minutes of fame. All auto related websites are closely monitored, and a blacked out number plate is no guarentee of anonymity, as the site administrators are bound by law to provide individual member details when they are investigating criminal acts.
AFF have requested the assistance of E series moderators to take a more active role in removing inappropriate content from within your section. Content that is either illegal, antisocial (may lead to personal injury / property damage) or intimidary in nature. Basically try and take a more active role in improving the credibility levels to where they rightfully belong.

I will leave it to each individual to make their mind up as to whether this 'outsider interference' is destructive, or in any way aimed at destroying the clublife etc. Might I also suggest you ask those that are making the accusations against AFF admin / mods whether or not these comments are true.
By helping E Series, we are helping the blue oval as a whole.

It is being left here as I believe this discussion is necessary to clear the air and allow everyone to voice their opinion so get off the high horse about now.
I do not believe yahoo189 to be on any sort of high horse. As far as I see it, he probably represents the main demographic of e-series as it has stood for the last 3-4 years that I have been here or the unmentionable (for whatever reasons) other ford forum. If that does not fit with the projected outcomes that AFF foresees as it's future as an entity, then so be it. It seems that the majority of members are fighting back and politely informing AFF that it's policy of telling members when to go to the toilet is not exactly where they want it to be (that's not to say everyone wants to rebel and become neanderthal-like), even if their side of the argument is not as well thought out in regards to diplomacy.

People like this MAKE THIS BLOODY club. When you log on to have a cry about ur falcon not turning over usually one of these ppl will be the first to help. Other ppl seem to be bent on criticizing them while offering NOTHING constructive....
Its funny this should be brought up, I asked that exact question in a thread, in my first few weeks here and i got nothing constructive, just crap like " god im sick of this, do a search next time" out of something like 10 replys, none were constructive, most were from the "clique" members. So after that, i had no time for anything they said, and did not associate with E-series, because as a new member, thats just what thought the people were like.
If they "MAKE THIS BLOODY CLUB" then i wouldnt want to be a part of it.
Other members such as (off the top of my head) Ghia5L, Rollin, Kenaz, mrcrackers... Are the ones that actually help new people, and if you get the wrong first impression, chances are, you will not return. And then, no longer support the E-series club.

This is just IMO

I agree with parts of what you said. I know that it would be annoying getting cut of like that, but some posts are poorly worded and show little thought. Usually everyone thinks so but a few say so. Ghia5L, Rollin, Kenaz, mrcrackers i agree that they are INCREDIBLY HELPFUL as i have said in my first post, but they are not the only ones who make up the club. There are others... and they DO contribute.

Don't get too excited scro.

What a classic this thread is. I'd like to comend Russell and the other Admin for allowing this thread to continue as I also think that this shake down is needed and has been coming for a while.

Much heated discusion has brought a few things to light, as I see it.

1. A lot of members think there are too many rules. AFF T&C's seem like they were writen for the 40 something's.
2. There seems to be a rivelry between this site and the other when there really shouldn't be.
3. Some people really can't discuss anything without it getting personal.

The fact is, E-Series on AFF is going to lose some members and already has. The ones who stay are those who can live with the rules. What ever else happens, the members that are left will have to put this all behind them for the site to continue to be usefull.

That's about all there is to it as far as I can see.
