Trying to figure out where they lived. Then read a report this morning about her mother and specifically mentioned Loganlea...

Whether you like Kochie (Sunrise presenter) or not you have to like the way he has slammed his own network for reportedly shelling out $2000000 for exclusive interviews with her and her family.
He maintains (and I totally agree) that they should have nothing to do with them.

As a Solicitor, i never understood the national outcry when the sentence was handed down.

5kg more weight in her body board bag, clearly any reasonable person would assume something was not right. 5kg more weight in a bag contain something light in any event.............

Any reasonable person would not accept that she did not know it was in her bag.

Giving evidence that she did not go to Bali before, yet evidence resoundingly confirmed that she did many times before thrashed any amount of credibility she had.

The family blaming Ron Bakir (Mad Rons) for creating such a circus and blaming him for ruining everything when things went bad, when giving him glowing accolades before court shows the horrific nature of this family. The family was all for causing a circus to drum up support in the first place. Clearly Bakir had some intentions, but it would be hard to accept that the Corby family would not be accepting, until things went sour.

The family are a pack of parasites. If the matter was dealt with in an Australian court, yes she would not have obtained a 20 year sentence, but she would still be found guilty.

The constant chopping and changing in the whole ordeal, hiring this bloke:
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/cor...066840652.html

And the like shows how money / media hungry the family really is.

They have simply cashed in on the whole thing. Mercedes Corby is the reason that people overseas think we are a pack of lunatics in this place where we have not progressed an inch from being convicts.

The whole family should be ignored.

Secondly, if she wasn't 'Schapelle Corby, a stereotypical Aussie beach babe' as she was portrayed, but someone from another background, say named 'Youseff El Habib from Bankstown' nobody would care.

Kudos to Kochie for his comments.

I must add why would anyone take Boogie board to Bali when you can hire them for probably for a $1 a day. Besides that the brother in law and sister have shop full of them so why would you lug one when there were plenty available for use. .

We all know she's guilty and anybody that want to run the risk of taken drugs to Bali, deserves what they get. I mean the death penalty is a known fact in this country, so she's very lucky not to get that. To run drugs into Bali you are very well paid, so that's why they take the risk. So if they get caught it's no fault but their own, I have no sympathy. And everyone going on about her looks. Well she's not ugly but I'd kick her out of bed for farting.

Also read the Snowtown murders book. There is a interesting alleged 'hydro' link to Mick Corby.

Question Re: Schapelle Corby, why so much interest ?

Hi Rapid and yes about the location
she might have had a job for a while on the goldcoast
back in the nineties everyone new that if you wanted to score
you went to the Corbys house at Loganlea not the gold coast
and of course Loganlea is in Logan city where the bogans come from
My grand girl says shes proud to be a Logan Bogan

WHAT DO Peppa Pig, Bananas in Pyjamas and Charlie and Lola have in common?

Yes they all air on ABC2, but more importantly they all out-rated Channel 9's encore screening of its Schapelle telemovie last night.

The second consecutive screening of the drama, portraying Schapelle Corby's arrest and conviction for drug smuggling in Bali, was the 43rd most-watched show of the night, attracting just 241,000 viewers across the five metro cities.

That's just a quarter of the 1.022 million viewers the telemovie managed to pull on its debut on Sunday night against Seven's highly promoted INXS mini-series.

During her trial I met a guy in Brisbane who had relations who lived just down the road from the Corby family, apparently they (Corbys) are notorious for drug crime stuff etc.

Because they're a commercial network, and attention is king. Attention (good or bad) helps almost every part of their business - from mindshare of their own-produced & imported shows to direct advertiser dollars - without that attention they die.

And controversy is cheap easy attention.

And it's all well & good to then decide not to be a part in their circus, but here we are embedding the name of Channel 7 and Schappelle Corby further in our own minds and those of whoever reads this thread, and maybe more importantly in the databases of the search engines that rake over this site.

In the last thirty years of my television watching I can't think of a mainstream channel that hasn't done multiple things to make a good percentage of the public want to boycott them - but we don't. I haven't owned a television for more than a decade and here I am contributing to the Channel 7 (or whoever) attention-cause just posting here... adding to their mindshare and google rank post by post.

The whole family is as dumb as mud, all they had to do in first couple of days was pay the $15000(not 200,000 quoted by there lawyer) and she would of been on first flight home .but decided to put there trust in two lawyers trying to make a name for themselves. The only reason we got to hear about her every day for months when first happened was because she was very attractive ,lots before and since we have heard hardly anything about are in the same prison system

Feels like the media is trying to convince us that we should give a crap.

Just came from Coles where a woman picked up a magazine that had Schapelle splashed all over the cover. She proclaimed to her husband.. 'I can't believe it...! Warnie's already got a new woman!!'. The picture of them together was tucked up in a small box in the top left hand corner.

I don't give a crap about either but I'd sooner read news about Warnie than a convicted drug smuggler who's bogan family has a checkered history.

Please. Media. We don't care. It shouldn't be taking up space when there's actual news to report.

Poor Schapelle Corby, she missed out on so many things from the past 10 years.
Imagine when she uses the Self Serve checkout at Coles for the first time.

2 reasons come to mind -

1. News is 24/7 these days so they have a lot of time to fill in all forms of media.
2. To fill this void they bang on about the Corbys, the Kardations, the Beiber....the list goes on forever.

Unfortunately the population is being dumbed down by this endless news focus on these stories that have no substance and are generally about people who have nothing positive to offer.
