Well, I'm in for a sleepless night tonight

After a long drawn out process, everything has fallen in line and I will be on the train on my way to Melbourne to pick her up.

Can't wait

I have a few minor cosmetic changes in mind, so will post photos as they progress. May not be for a few weeks as my weekends for the rest of this month are fully booked......

I had an ST all day today with 4,000 kms on it... What a fantastic car! I have driven one but only a short test drive... Overall Id buy one if it wasnt for the seat, its just shocking and actually made me feel sore! I think they should make recaros and option :(

Otherwise it was great... Nearly as quick as my old 5.4 GT, if not quicker depending on what you were doing!

Seats felt great to me. Fit my 186cm 90kg frame really well.

I wish my xr6t seats hugged properly like the recaros

Also it seems the excessive engine movement from the soggy mounts can cause the clutch line to break

Change of topic - what's everyone getting with a full tank of fuel on their STs? I read in another forum one guy getting 700kms on a tank. I struggle to get 600kms on mine with approx 9.1 l/100 kms, mainly city driving. It's a brand new car only done 1200kms so I assume the fuel economy will get better with time. First 2 trips to petrol station I get around 580kms using 98 octane fuel.

Fuel usage will improve after break in period. City driving that figure should be about right. Roll back to 95 and save a few bucks there...

Damn you people must run the tank low, which is not a good thing.

Last tank I got 580km to 51L mixed urban. Just ticked over 3,000km

There is no real danger in doing that. You sometimes get the old argument that it sucks from the bottom of the tank when the level gets low and you pick up sediment or nasties of some sort. It actually always pulls from the bottom, the pickup point does not float with the fuel level.

I was more thinking the cooling of the fuel pump itself..

Now some smart *** will tell me the pump isn't in the fuel tank !

Providing you do not run things dry no problem, if you get to fuel surge point funny things can start to happen. I have run it down to nearly zero on the range finder, put 54 litres in a 62 litre tank, pretty sure I have put nearly 700 k's in at times too, but probably a fair bit of country driving on that tank.

Mine's averaged mid to high 8's from new - I've got 12,000km on it now so I'd say it's as settled as it will get. Still very impressed with the economy these can achieve.

I have found with the more KM's the better the fuel economy. Drove to the V8's last Saturday and sat on about 7.6L-7.8L the whole way, all highway driving....

Getting some KM's up on it now as my other half drives a bit of a distance to and from work, kinda surprised how the KM's creep up.......

Anyone done a tyre rotation yet? What intervals are recommended?
