On a side note I think the general styling themes of these Force cars are a prelude to Orion-The organic front and rear bumpers, and general chunky stance. |

Well I have always been a fan of the F6 Typhoon - but wanted more luxury and less "look at me". Would definatly be interested in a Force 6 in the future.

Good find mate, but dissapointing cars. Not happy Jan. Thought they would have come up with something better than that. Even the badging looks lame.

The BA GT showed that there were signs of life in Ford yet, but the years have proven that the profit driven culture at Ford is so strong that they are blinded to the advantages of having a loss making halo car - a GTHO with premium performance levels. You know...the way Holden was willing to make a loss on Monaro.
FPV promised so much in 2002. All along they have hinted at big things to come, but nothing substantial has eventuated. All of a sudden someone said, lets delete the stripes and spoiler and hey presto...a new model! |

So a HSV senator is just a clubsport without whatever it is a clubsport has? Its a different model for a different customer.
Times are tough and Ford/FPV have been a lot more realistic about their situation than Holden/HSV have. Ford/FPV dont have export deals, and great big engines they can ship in from the US. Theyre doing the best they can with what they have. If they had the cash, Im sure theyd do some crazy halo models, but its not to be unfortunately. |

I LOVE the look of the new range, can anyone else see DJR320 in the Force range? I loved the look of the original T-Series, and the T3 for that matter, just needs to be dropped a little, and chrome GT rims, and voila!
Just wish i had the $70k+ for one.. :( |

The only thing that may look DJR320 is the bob tail, everything else is different. Different rims, different front bar, no bonnet ornament....

The more I think about the Force range the more I feel it was a quckly concived exercise in reminding the market that FPV is still around in the face of the HSV E series. It appears that the only "development" done was on the badges and the rear lip. That said, I think they might actually sell.

does anyone see the resemblance between the back end of the Force 6 and a VY? just the lower section with the mesh...... not happy. overall they arent much different to the baloved BA... still look the goods too tho. theyd wanna go bloody hard to the point the VE's are left standin as they havent put much into body design!
i really hope this isnt Ford's response to the VE

i read wheels magazine and the ss was not much quicker then the gt .2 in it really and they said its probable it could get better times....the gts in another section was not much faster in times either....what i did notice was that the gt had a higher km per hour reading then the ss did so the gt does show possiblities if it had better traction....the gts how ever had a much higher km reading then the ss and gt about 10 km in it

i still dont get it.
surely theres not enough of a difference to warrant a new model. when you see HSV come up with the goods with the VE, with new technolgoies, edgy designs etc, you cant help but be dissapointed with FPV. for what could be an exciting new car (the name Force could surely be used more effectively) its a let down for sure

So is the issue everyone is having with the car itself or the NAME? :jab:
If it was called FPV 270 & FPV 290 or G270 & G290 would everyone still be cracking the sh*ts? D:

I guess it all comes down to suspension tune and just how luxo it is inside.
I hope it has all the goodies you can imagine, not just leather seats piano black and plastic chrome inserts and a few badges. It should have akick *** stereo, DVDs in the headrests (ala caprice) A LEFT FOOTREST etc etc |

Does anyone have details on how much luxury these cars copped? I was under the impression they were basically Fairlane G220s inside.

oh damn... i liked the idea of these cars coming out... but now i am pretty damn dissapointed to say the least!
It has already been said... but why would Ford bother releasing these when they really are just a GTP or Typhoon with all the goodies minus a wing + a new badge. It is POOR marketing from the team at Ford i think, waste of time and money. |

Force 6/8 is a move in the right direction.
An extra 10kw across the range would of helped it's image a little more though. |

A real lot of speculation is happening surrounding these cars. It's interesting to see FPV reverting back to a styling cue from the early T-Series, which I personally liked but a lot of people dont.
Those cars look awesome, I'd consider one, but it's hard to understand just what the reason is behind releasing a vehicle that visually looks very similar to the current vehicles with a couple of exterior mods. What I do believe is there is a surprise somewhere there, and I believe it will probably be in the pricing.. I'm sure David Flint left strict orders for **** like this not to happen, and I'm sure with the success FPV have had in the market since the release of the BA means that they know what they shouldn't be doing as a result of the failed T-Series cars. (Bar T3)
