Australia had 18 new cases, no deaths and both CMR (1.403%) and active cases (10.7%) showed improvement.
NZ had 1 new case and no deaths so both CMR (1.409%) and active cases (9.1%) improved. The UK had 4,649 new cases and 629 deaths and while the CMR improved slightly to 14.781%, active cases rose to 85.0%. The USA had just under 30k new cases and just over 2k deaths so the CMR rose to 5.951% and active cases remained steady at 77.2%. Globally, total confirmed cases surpassed 4M and Russia continues to have more than 10k new cases per day.

A pub nearby is doing takeaway food - small menu of pub classics, $20 a meal, order by text and pick up from the beer garden.
I'm going to give this a crack tonight, lets see how we go. |

Got a question regarding Queensland Outback Zone - where exactly or what defines “the outback” .
Is there some defining line, somewhere near Roma, Charleville, or Quilpie or ? |

You can travel 50km to tie your shoelaces 100 to visit your mistress and 1800 to work or to visit the mistress on every second thursday. If it's a full moon you can't go shopping but you can hold a real estate auction during a king tide... |

I'm no fan of the parma, I'm a steak and chips man
Unfortunately they do not offer steak and chips - I will be having a stern talk about this. So I ordered the salt and pepper squid with chips. I was then informed they are out of salt and pepper squid, which was lucky as I was already hacing buyers remorse I have ordered BBQ brisket burger w/chips |

BBQ Beef Brisket burger w/chips: Also got this for later $22 for burger and chips and $5 for sticky date pudding - all up $27 which is great value for Melbourne pricing, quality is great, I'm not a burger fan but it was quite enjoyable, the onion actually had a strong flavor too which is a rarity, food quantity is hard to judge in a photo but I'm a fat 'ozwog' who loves food and the serving size is a little on the too much side which says something. The process was: Send text to mobile number They'll send text back (in this case they let me know salt and pepper squid wasn't available) I reordered something else, Then they'll send a text saying your order is nearly ready. I got in the car when I got the text, drive to the next town, went to the counter, paid as it came out. From text to eating in under an hour - as far as the experience goes I think this has worked great given these people are improvising going from a normal pub setting to taking orders by text. |

That's a great write-up. Good to see the pub grub industry coming up with a fairly workable option.

He's pushing the authoritarianism though with how he's handling our restrictions which has taken off the glitter. Personally I don't like the heavy handed way he's dealt with COVID-19 restrictions but I welcome the infrastructure investment into our city. You have to put context around it though, the Victorian LNP haven't put up any decent front runner the past few elections, the last one got busted at a dinner with organised crime figures Their current front runner no one knows who they are, they've just been very insignificant and poor on marketing compared to our state ALP. Regardless you'll get the rusted-on voters putting a 1 in the box for their team but the LNP here aren't able to convince the swing voters or put up a decent campaign in marginal electorates. Unless they spend their marketing spondoolies more effectively and get someone with a personality leading the party the LNP are going to spend another cycle in opposition here. Quote:
I'm still convinced food trucks are the future of hospitality industry, much lower overheads, mobile, just pay permits to greedy councils and you can have an eccentric venue. Last edited by Franco Cozzo; 09-05-2020 at 07:35 PM. |

Some anti vaxxer got separated from her child and thrown in the back of a divvy van in the Sydney protests: https://twitter.com/SydneyLWatson/st...747095552?s=19 I support anyone's right to protest regardless of how inane I think the subject is but I'm absolutely against anyone taking children with them to protests, they're leaving their child wide open for this exact scenario to occur where the parent gets detained and the child is now solo in the city or if it turns violent they'll be caught up in the mess. People should stop using their children as political weapons, I'm sure said child would rather be at home playing videogames rather than out on the streets of Sydney CBD following Mummabear along in her anti vaxxer campaign. So the perspective I see is people generally love Chairman Dan, once you go past Bendigo I guess the perspective changes as basically Victoria is a two speed state, you have Melbourne and 'not Melbourne' and the 'not Melbourne' gets the short end of the stick. Did anyone do a count of the number of officers? Bureaucracy is taking over. This is very dangerous. If we don't like what the politicians are doing then we vote them out. We can't do that with bureaucrats. The NSW premier needs to come out and condemn the actions of NSW police for their behaviour over the treatment of this woman. And maybe roll a head or two otherwise she will be gone next election. |

I reckon she's had the kid there as a political tool, I've got the little one with me they won't arrest me so she goes to try rub it in their faces until it backfires and another woman is the one who ends up arresting her. Is the kid now going to end up in the custody of DOCS? The thing with protests is they can go from peaceful to not peaceful in an instant, you can feel the environment in any of these situations, everyone's on edge and its the perfect climate for things to escalate out of control. |
